Downton Abbey star Joanne Froggatt has revealed she is pregnant with her first child.
The 43-year-old actor, who starred as Anna Bates in the hit ITV period drama, revealed the happy news on the red carpet at Tuesday’s Into Film Awards as she cradled her baby bump and posed for pictures.
Joanne married longterm boyfriend James Cannon in October 2012 and eight years later in February 2020 she confirmed they had separated. They never had any children together.
‘We’ve actually been separated for a little while,’ she explained in an interview with The Telegraph at the time. ‘I’m looking to the future… I’m just going to embrace this year and see what happens.’
In August 2023 Joanne was pictured with a man named Mark and little is known about their relationship.
Joanne previously described her marriage with James, an IT consultant, as ‘perfect’ and said their differing career paths and similar interests were what made them so great for each other.

Speaking in an interview back in 2015 she said: ‘He’s passionate about film and theatre, so we have a common interest – and he’s not in the business, so it’s perfect.’
Together the pair set up a production company Run After It, which Joanne took control of after their split.
