A dataminer has uncovered the next six DLC characters coming to Mortal Kombat 1, including three series veterans and Conan the Barbarian.
Every Mortal Kombat game in recent memory has gradually become a party pack of crossovers through additional DLC characters, with the last entry, Mortal Kombat 11, adding the Joker, Rambo, the T-800 from Terminator, and many others.
Mortal Kombat 1 has followed the same trend, with the first DLC pack (which was also leaked early) featuring Omni-Man from Invincible, Homelander from The Boys, DC’s Peacemaker, and series veterans Ermac, Quan Chi, and Takeda.
A dataminer has now seemingly unearthed the next six planned DLC characters in the game’s files, which consists of three legacy characters and three guest inclusions.
According to dataminer Interloko, Mortal Kombat characters Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot are set to be added to the game. Cyrax and Sektor are already in the game as Kameo fighters, who assist with support attacks, but they aren’t playable on the main roster.
The three guests are the T-1000 from Terminator 2, Conan the Barbarian, and Ghostface from the Scream films. The latter is perhaps the most surprising inclusion, considering it’s just a teenager with a knife instead of the usual bulky powerhouse.
Conan the Barbarian will presumably recreate the likeness of Arnold Schwarzenegger, although potentially it could be a generic version of the character – or even Jason Momoa.
Arnie appeared in Mortal Kombat 11 as the T-800 from Terminator, but instead of his voice it was just a really bad impression. So let’s hope that doesn’t happen again.
The T-1000 will almost certainly look like actor Robert Patrick and in October of last year Andrew Morgado, who voices Reptile, revealed Patrick had done some voice work for Mortal Kombat, so that already seems to confirm his involvement.
The same dataminer also uncovered evidence of five new announcers (Havik, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, Conan, and T-1000) and two new arenas, but there’s no details as to what these will be.
While none of this has been confirmed by NetherRealm, Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon previously teased the arrival of Ghostface in September last year.
Boon shared a picture of various slasher movie villains on Twitter, with green ticks over Leatherface, Jason Voorhees, and Freddy Krueger, who have all made it into Mortal Kombat in the past. Michael Myers, Pinhead, Chucky, Ghostface, and Jigsaw, meanwhile, all had question marks above them.
The inclusion of Ghostface, along with Conan, lines up with a previous leak too – so it seems like these are pretty much locked in for future DLC packs.
