The Shadow Of The Erdtree expansion is making Blessing enchantments more effective, after being review bombed for being too hard.

Elden Ring’s highly anticipated expansion Shadow Of The Erdtree was critically acclaimed when it first released earlier in the month, with a whole new map and lots of new content and enemies.

It’s very difficult, but while that was only to be expected a significant proportion of PC players on Steam started review bombing the expansion, to indicate their displeasure.

Based on Shadow Of The Erdtree’s first patch, however, it seems that developer FromSoftware is listening to its critics, as a few tweaks will now make the expansion a little easier to beat.

FromSoftware is revising how the Blessing enchantment buffs work, by scaling them to be more effective at the start and end of the game.

‘The attack and damage negation has been increased for the first half of the maximum amount of Blessing enhancements, and the second half will now be more gradual,’ the patch says.

What that means is that the first 10 of 20 Blessing increases to your character will now give you greater attack and damage negation.

The final level of Blessing enchantments has also been ‘slightly increased’, according to the patch notes, which means fans can get an extra boost towards the end of the game too, assuming they find the items.

FromSoftware also says that other balance adjustments and bug fixes are planned for a ‘future patch’, although they haven’t said when that will arrive.

Since Shadow Of The Erdtree launched on June 21 it immediately became one of the most popular games on Steam, and received the highest review score for any downloadable content ever.

The expansion’s success is also evident on Twitch, where top streamer Kai Cenat did a marathon broadcast playing the game, and where UK content creator Perrikaryal beat two of the bosses using actual mind control.
