It took two weeks and 700 deaths, but Twitch streamer Deadly PG eventually got the better of Elden Ring’s toughest boss, by using his voice.
Elden Ring’s newly released expansion Shadow Of The Erdtree has seen a stampede of fans returning to the 2022 action role-player, ready to take on another set of ridiculously challenging bosses – as expected in a FromSoftware game.
Among those fans is the UK streamer who played Elden Ring with actual mind control, and a content creator who spent a month beating three FromSoftware titles without dying.
More recently, however, a Twitch streamer with spinal muscular atrophy floored everyone when he showed how he beat Elden Ring’s toughest boss by just using his voice and one finger.
Streamer Deadly PG tried but failed to beat Malenia 700 times over two weeks, before he finally brought her down.
During his entire run playing Elden Ring, defeating other bosses along the way, he had died a total of 2,548 times.
That’s in part because he wasn’t using magic or summons, which made it even harder that he had to rely on voice commands and a finger on a track pad to move the camera angle.
Deadly PG has spinal muscular atrophy, which is a ‘genetic condition that makes the muscles weaker and causes problems with movement,’ according to the NHS.
Fans are understandably impressed (Twitter)
As seen in the video below, Deadly PG uses voice commands, such as ‘juice’ for healing, ‘forward,’ ‘dodge,’ and ‘sprint’ for movement, and ‘still’ for attack.
Naturally, Deadly PG was ecstatic after finally beating Malenia, but he’s far from finished with Elden Ring, as the streamer is now taking on Shadow Of The Erdtree.
The expansion won’t be a walk in the park either, as it’s so difficult that fans review bombed it, resulting in FromSoftware releasing a patch that makes it slightly easier to beat.
Deadly PG’s accomplishment is highly impressive though, not just because he was solely using voice commands and one finger to beat Malenia, but because there are tricks that he could’ve used to make the fight easier, which he chose to ignore.
Take that, Malenia! (YouTube)
