Harrison Ford has been brutally honest about his career thus far as he admitted which role required him to be ‘an idiot’.

The 82-year-old actor who is best known for his beloved franchises including Star Wars and Indiana Jones has been refreshingly frank about his work.

The star was asked about his upcoming role in the controversial latest Captain America film, which is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The actor is set to play politician Thaddeus Ross in the movie who later becomes the Red Hulk, a role that was previously played by the late William Hurt.

When asked what it took to convince him to sign on, the actor replied, ‘not caring.’

Harrison told Variety: ‘What did it take? It took not caring. It took being an idiot for money, which I’ve done before.’

‘I don’t mean to disparage it,’ the actor then clarified with a laugh as he explained his comment.

‘I’m just saying you have to do certain things that normally your mother would not want you to do – or your acting coach if you had one.

‘But it’s fun, and I enjoyed it. I had a great time, and I’m delighted at the response that we got with the trailer.’

At the San Diego Comic-Con in California, fans were treated to a panel including Harrison and his co-stars as they discussed the new film.

Many were impressed with Harrison’s ripped physique as he growled on the stage and stretched out his arms as he pretended to be his new Marvel character.

Of course, Harrison’s toned chest wasn’t the only hot topic as it was revealed that Robert Downey Jr is officially returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Doctor Doom, after previously starring as the beloved Tony Stark, aka Iron Man.

The convention was extremely exciting for Marvel fans who need to clear their calendars as the next phase of comic adaptations is set to be released.
