Tom Cruise, 62, sparks romance rumours with Chris Martin’s singing protégé, 25-Brooke Ivey Johnson-Entertainment – Metro

Tom Cruise may be in the midst of a new romance, according to rumours. 

The Mission: Impossible star, 62, has been spotted repeatedly with Spanish singer Victoria Canal, 25, whom he met at Glastonbury after she joined Coldplay onstage for their headlining set. 

According to sources, after meeting at the music festival in June, the pair’s friendship has become romantic, with an insider describing them as ‘inseparable.’

Cruise even invited the singer onto the set of Mission: Impossible 8 in Oxfordshire, a gesture which is uncommon for the actor, according to crew members. 

The Sun reports that crew members on the film shared: ‘Tom invited Victoria to watch him film for the whole day and that is just not something he does for his random friends.

The insider reflected that the couple’s age difference made their connection seem unlikely: ‘It might have seemed unlikely that they would become anything more than friends but they are pretty much inseparable.

‘They have been seeing a lot of one another and Victoria is beautiful. It’s all been happening in plain sight.’

Just days after they first met at Glastonbury, Canal accompanied Cruise to the premiere of Twisters at Cineworld in London’s Leicester Square, even joining him in the helicopter he flew to the event.

They were later seen walking through the city together, laughing.

Victoria talked about the evening on Instagram: ‘We met backstage at Glastonbury and talked about the upcoming premiere we were both going to and he said, “roll with me!”’

It seems helicopter rides have become routine for the pair, who were spotted at Battersea Power Station’s helipad a week later. 

Notably, Cruise was seen affectionately zipping up Canal’s coat before they took flight. 

They were next spotted at Bruce Springsteen’s Wembley Stadium concert, with Canal accompanying Cruise as his guest in the VIP area. 

Canal shared a picture of herself with Springsteen and Cruise, captioning the post: ‘I should promote my song (california sober) coming out at midnight but I’m too busy watching bruce with the most random friend i’ve ever made ! xxxx’

Victoria, who was born without her right forearm due to amniotic band syndrome, was born in Munich but later moved to Barcelona, where she grew up. 

Canal rleased Elegy EP in 2022, a moving, elegiac album that includes Swan Song, a track that captured Chris Martin’s attention, resulting in Canal’s performance during Coldplay’s set at Glastonbury. 

Martin called the song: ‘one of the best songs ever written.’

Martin also introduced Canal to his record label, Parlophone, and the 25-year-old landed a record deal there. 

Her latest single, California Sober, came out a week ago and the singer will soon embark on a tour of Europe and North America.
