Halloween actor Charles Cyphers dies aged 85-Pierra Willix-Entertainment – Metro
He played Sheriff Leigh Brackett in the film franchise.

Actor Charles Cyphers, best known for appearing in the Halloween franchise, has died aged 85.
First appearing in the 1978 movie Halloween, he reprised his role as Sheriff Leigh Brackett in the 1981 sequel Halloween II and 2021’s Halloween Kills.
It’s now been announced the actor has died after a brief illness.
‘Charles was a lovable and sensitive man,’ his manager shared in a statement with Variety after revealing the actor had died in Tucson, Arizona on Sunday.
‘He always had the best stories, and you got a full performance while he told you. He was a close friend and client on many years who will be dearly missed.’
Cyphers initially worked with Halloween director John Carpenter on the 1976 action film Assault on Precinct 13, in which he played Starker, a police officer.

After the original Halloween, he went on to appear in the filmmaker’s 1980 horror film The Fog and then Escape From New York the following year.
His co-star Nancy Kyes, who appeared in Halloween, The Fog and Assault on Precinct 13 said she was ‘so sorry to hear about dear Chuck’.

‘My friend of many years, he could always be relied on for a kind word, a good laugh and a great story. How he will be missed,’ she said.
Cyphers was born in 1939, in Niagara Falls, New York and went on to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and California State University, Los Angeles, where he received his BA in theatre arts.
He also appeared in multiple television series throughout his career, including Barnaby Jones, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Bionic Woman, Charlie’s Angels, Roots, Wonder Woman, The Betty White Show, Starsky and Hutch and ER.
Other films he appeared in including Truck Turner, The Onion Field, Borderline and Major League.
