Trisha Goddard has been lined up to present Good Morning Britain more than a decade after her self-titled talk show was axed.
The 66-year-old, who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer earlier this year, was a staple on ITV with her programme Trisha, which aired from 1998 until 2010.
But for her latest on-screen role, Trisha will join Good Morning Britain for two appearances next week.
Confirming the news on the breakfast show today with Kate Garraway and Ed Milliband, she said she was ‘nervous’ and had been ‘shaking like a chihuahua’ about making the announcement live on air.

In February, Trisha said she was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer – also known as metastatic or stage 4 breast cancer. The disease is incurable, but there is treatment available.
She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 and has been in recovery since.
Speaking previously to Hello! Magazine, the TV presenter declared that she ‘won’t hide anymore’.
‘It’s not going to go away,’ she said of her illness. ‘And with that knowledge comes grief, and fear. But I must keep enjoying what I have always enjoyed.’

In 2022, Trisha secretly tied the knot for the fourth time. Her partner’s identity was initially secret but he was later revealed to be called Allen.
The couple live together in Connecticut, where she said she gets a choice about how to treat her stage 4 cancer. Trisha said she chose ‘life-prolonging’ care.
Trisha defiantly that she does not want to be a ‘poster girl’ for cancer as that’s ‘not who I am’ or ‘why I’m here’.
She also doesn’t want to read words such as ‘dying’, ‘terminal’, or ‘battling’ associated with her, nor does she want to be hailed as ‘inspirational’.

After soaring to fame with Trisha, the broadcaster went on to star in a host of TV shows including Loose Women.
She also appeared in satires of her show in film Shaun of the Dead, Little Britain and Doctor Who.
In 2017, Trisha guest-hosted The Wright Stuff for several episodes and was also a panellist on Big Brother’s Bit on the Side.
More recently, she was the first celebrity eliminated from Dancing on Ice and appeared on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories.
Trisha currently presents on TalkTV and CNN.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
