Love Is Blind fans furious after star says woman he was talking to ‘sounds fat’-Sabrina Barr-Entertainment – Metro

Love Is Blind fans have been left horrified after one of the men taking part in the show said that a woman he was speaking to ‘sounds fat’.

It’s been four years since the reality TV show first launched on Netflix, following hopeful singletons as they go on dates behind walls to conceal their appearances from their potential suitors.

Several couples end up getting engaged before ever meeting in person, before then embarking on an experiment – which includes living together in the real world and meeting each other’s families – and eventually, in some cases, getting married.

There have been several international spin-offs of the programme, including the recently-released Love Is Blind UK and Love Is Blind Brazil.

In the latest edition of the Brazilian version, it follows a slightly more unique format, as all of the participants have been heartbroken before and are looking for a second chance at love.

In the first episode of Love is Blind Brazil: A Fresh Start, viewers meet Ariela Carasso, 34, who says that in her last relationship, her partner became extremely jealous and cheated on her with an ex-friend after she lost weight.

‘And that… it was hard. It wasn’t easy. But there’s light at the end of the tunnel. And that’s why I’m here today. I still believe in love,’ she says.

Two of the men who Ariela speaks to in the first episode are Alexandre Thomaz, 34, and Evandro Pinto, 35, with all three of them having children from previous relationships.

Ariela gets excited about connecting with both of the men early on in the process, saying to the camera: ‘I’m getting worked up. After talking with Evandro, it’s like, man. I really liked Alexandre, but I really like Evandro too.’

However, in a moment that was screenshotted and shared on Reddit by a viewer, Alexandre says after stepping out of the pods: ‘I’m f**ked, man. I just liked one girl, but she sounds fat.’

While it’s not initially clear if he was talking about Ariela, this moment was shown shortly after she spoke about developing feelings for him and Evandro.

‘Something tells me it ain’t gonna go too well for this guy,’ Reddit user NeverHxppy wrote with a screenshot, showing Alexandre’s quote in the subtitles translated into English from Brazilian Portuguese.

‘“Sounds fat”… what?!’ an astonished fan called u/Disgruntled_Pelicano remarked, while u/JosiasTavares added: ‘Without spoiling anything, he’s not even the worst in the season (which doesn’t mean he’s alright at all).’

U/Jh166 said that in their opinion, ‘it was pretty obvious he was on this more to have some fun instead of actually finding love’.

‘Wrong show for this person,’ u/Therealelena stated, while u/Andajames added: ‘My first language is Brazilian Portuguese. I gasped when I heard it.’

Reacting to the moment on X, a viewer called @MyTwistedLyf also reacted in disbelief, stating: ‘Did Alexandre really just say, I think I like a girl but she sounds fat?’

On Instagram, Alexandre described what it was like to go on the process by saying that he ‘ventured into a blind marriage and had an unforgettable experience’.

Meanwhile, without giving away spoilers, fans have been reacting passionately over what happened with the person who he ended up pursuing a romance with on the show.
