Alicia Silverstone has concerned and disgusted British fans as she shares a video of herself stealing and eating some fruit she found in someone’s front garden.
Alicia, 47, has accidentally caused chaos after posting a new video on TikTok.
The actress, best known for her role as Cher Horowitz in the 90s classic movie Clueless, has shared a video in which she eats an unidentified berry that she found in a bush in someone’s garden- despite not having a clue what the fruit is.
Fans were quick to share their concern as they revealed that the orange seed-heavy berry was a ‘Jerusalem cherry’ also known as a solanum pseudocapsicum which is mildly poisonous.
The caption of the TikTok read: ‘What the heck is this!? I’m in England and can’t figure it out. 🤔’
Despite thinking that the fruit might be a tomato, she carried on eating it throughout the video, and fans were shaken to their very core.

While some fans were concerned about her health, others were more concerned that she felt comfortable reaching into front gardens and stealing.

‘Even if it was a tomato, it’s on someone’s private front garden, you can’t just reach through their gate and pick their plants,’ohallo1234 commented.
What is a Jerusalem Cherry?
The solanum pseudocapsicum is commonly nicknamed a Jerusalem cherry, Madeira winter cherry, or, winter cherry and is grown as a decorative houseplant.
The plant bears fruit but according to The Joy of Plants, the berries ‘are poisonous, so you should only use a Jerusalem Cherry as a decorative plant, and keep it out of the reach of small children and pets.’
It is accurate that the plant is a part nightshade family, but this is a large and diverse family of plants which includes both poisonous species and food plants such as potatoes, aubergines and tomatoes.
According to Medline, the fruit can be fatal in large doses but is most likely to cause gastrointestinal and nervous system.

The actress is vegan and has been since 1998. She regularly uses her platform to promote the vegan lifestyle.
Her veganism has caused her to face criticism in the past for claiming her nine-year-old son Bear has ‘never needed antibiotics’ thanks to a vegan diet.
She’s also claimed she doesn’t need to discipline her son because of his diet. In 2012, a video of her ‘bird-feeding’ her son went viral as she chewed up his food and spat it into his mouth.
