After the hit Netflix documentary series Beckham focusing on her husband, Victoria Beckham will now be the focus of her own.

The former Spice Girls star, 50, will be the subject of an upcoming series from the streaming service.

The yet untitled docuseries will follow Victoria’s time in the spotlight ‘from Spice Girls superstardom in the ‘90s to modern fashion maven’

‘Her Posh Spice days may be behind her, but today Beckham is on a journey to build a fashion empire — and now, fans will be able to see the story behind it all,’ the synopsis for the programme teases.

It promises ‘exclusive access to Victoria, her family, and those closest to her’ and get ‘up and personal with the former pop star as she juggles her business and family life’.

A director has not yet been confirmed but it will be produced by husband David’s production company Studio 99 in association with Dorothy St Pictures.

Victoria rose to prominence in the 1990s as a member of the Spice Girls, in which she was nicknamed Posh Spice.

With over 100 million records sold worldwide, the group became the best-selling female group of all time but split in 2001.

She released a self-titled solo album in 2001, but it was the launch of her eponymous label seven years later that has been her focus in recent years, with the brand estimated to now be worth £58 million.

Known initially for its dresses, the range has expanded into separates and luxury handbags selling at up to £18,000.

In 2011, Victoria Beckham won Designer Brand of the Year at the British Fashion Awards.

After the success of her clothing brand, Victoria released her own beauty and skincare line in 2019.

The popstar turned fashion-designer has been married to David since 1999 and they share four children – Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.

Although the recent Netflix documentary focused on her husband, Victoria was the centre of many memorable moments, in particular a scene where he pushed her to ‘admit ‘be honest about the fact’ she wasn’t working class despite her claims and was in fact driven to school in her father’s Rolls Royce.

The documentary, which was nominated for five Emmy Awards, amassed a record breaking 3.8million viewers during its premiere week.

Last year Beckham director Fisher Stevens told Variety he spent 14 hours interviewing Victoria for her husband’s documentary, which followed his climb from aspiring athlete to becoming a football and fashion icon.

‘It hasn’t all been rosy with his relationship with Victoria. There’s constant controversy,’ he said.

‘Frankly, I was quite moved by their relationship at the end of the day, and — after all they’ve been through — how much they love each other, and how close they are.’

The Victoria Beckham documentary was announced during a Netflix panel at Edinburgh TV festival.

During the panel the streaming service also announced documentaries about chef Gordon Ramsay, 90s boy band Take That, the 7/7 London bombings and sports promoters.

Beckham is streaming on Netflix.
