‘I can’t stop thinking about it’: fashion pros reveal their bank holiday weekend style go-tos from £8.50

BANK holiday weekend means an extra day to look stylish!

But as we edge closer to the end of the month, that means less cash in our bank accounts to splurge on clothes.

After a pretty hectic summer schedule, the bank holiday weekend for me will be a pretty chilled one.

I’m heading to my book club on Sunday, so I want something easy and laid-back to wear.

And what’s more easy and laidback than a T-shirt and denim shorts?

I love this slogan tee from Next, with its vibrant colours that really pop.

This pair of denim shorts from Mango aren’t as short as hotpants, and will sit on my legs comfortably.

I’ll finish off my look with some sunnies and my trusty Uniqlo bag – which can hold so much (including a book), is washing-machine-friendly and under £15.

Perfect!

I’ve been on a mission to find something to wear to an end-of-summer wedding this bank holiday – it needs to be practical, but also well put together, so I can dash to meet mates in the evening for sundowner cocktails.

It’s still warm (ish) out there, so I’ll be wearing this throw-on-and-go dress from Zara.

I adore the colour and the puffball-style skirt makes it feel more designer, plus the fabric feels light and airy – perfect for dashing around and standing in a busy bar, cocktail in hand.

I’ll pop this cardigan in my bag to slip on in the evening chill and wear tonal sunglasses that work with this gorgeous bag from Mango and the M&S cardi.

Completing the look are these red, faux-suede flats that add a flash of colour and are practical for shopping and strolling home in.

This weekend, I’m heading to a festival-themed barbecue, and when there’s a theme, you can bet I’ll go all out.

Last week, I stopped by my local River Island store and spotted this stunning co-ord set – and then couldn’t stop thinking about!

Sure, it’s pricey, but it’s a timeless co-ord that will be perfect for a variety of summer events year after year.

You could rock this on holiday, for a night out, at a festival, or even style the jacket for your autumn/winter wardrobe.

I can hardly believe this is from the high street and the cost per wear is absolutely justifiable (or so I’m telling myself!).

I’ve teamed it with a basic white vest, these Primark boots, and a pair of orange-tinted aviator shades.

As I said, when it comes to themes, I don’t do it by halves!
