The Other Woman has launched on Netflix, and fans love this romantic comedy that was initially panned when it was released in 2014.
Netflix has had some huge wins recently when it comes to acquiring some forgotten gems that viewers love.
Joyride starring Olivia Colman was released in 2022 but was dubbed left viewers in 2024 ‘sobbing’ after the ‘silly little comedy’ turned out to be a hidden gem.
Similarly, fans praised the ‘underrated’ Viggo Mortensen forgotten classic A History of Violence as it hit the streaming platform and enchanted viewers 20 years on from its release.
These films have gained success years after they were released, and Netflix has done it again with the launch of the 2014 film The Other Woman on the platform.
Although the film was initially panned by reviewers, the film has found a huge fanbase a decade on from its release with Netflix viewers praising the film.

The Other Woman stars Leslie Mann, Cameron Diaz and Kate Upton as characters who discover they are all dating (or married to) the same man (played by Game of Thrones’ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau).
After learning about their mutual betrayal, they decide to seek revenge on the love-rat and team up to ruin his life. While the plot might be simple the movie is genuinely hilarious and has a fun message.
The film focuses on the power of female friendship and how an attempt to ruin a man’s life, helps the women to learn to open up and better themselves through their newfound relationships with each other.

Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer scored the film just 26% and it received just a 57% score from viewers.
The critics’ consensus reads: ‘The Other Woman definitely boasts a talented pedigree, but all that skill is never fully brought to bear on a story that settles for cheap laughs instead of reaching its empowering potential.’
A review from Henry Barnes from The Guardian called the film a ‘dumb dumb-feminist message’.
‘The Other Woman scrawls out a dumb dumb-feminist message with a big, fat marker pen. The women get revenge against the bad man. In the process they stalk him, worry about Loverat and talk about him incessantly. Hollywood 1 – 0 Bechdel,’ he wrote.
Clearly, a year on the reviews have changed and the story has been met in a much kinder light as fans continue to stream the film on Netflix and rave about it on social media.
The Other Woman is available to stream on Netflix.
