Gogglebox legend Stephen Webb burst into tears after his date on Celebs Go Dating called him ‘totally inappropriate.’
The TV personality, 53, is taking part in the Channel 4 reality programme after recently splitting from his husband of six years Daniel Lustig.
On last night’s episode, Stephen was confronted by his dates, driving instructor Dean, 31, and footballer Ben, 22.
After being told by Dean he felt ‘humiliated’ by his behaviour, Stephen broke down and said he ‘comes across like an old pervert.’
He said while crying: It’s hard. It’s really hard. I’m a hot mess.
‘My head’s all over the place. I feel like my whole personality has been destroyed.’

Stephen continued in a confessional: ‘And now I’m just feeling really deflated. I don’t know where to go next.’
The Channel 4 star was comforted by Celebs Go Dating expert Anna Williamson who said he was a ‘lovely guy’ and promised to help him communicate for a ‘positive next phase.’
When the Celebs Go Dating cast met to discuss their dates, Dean said Stephen was ‘totally inappropriate’ for asking if he ‘w**ked in the back of my car’ and speaking about his ‘hot c**k.’
He added: ‘I felt like treated me like a Grindr hook-up. Then you switched and turned on me and humiliated me. You didn’t need to be so horrible.’
Agreeing with Dean, expert Paul Carrick Brunson described Stephen’s behaviour on the dates as ‘selfish, crude and close-minded.’
In response, Stephen said: ‘I’m deflated I must admit. I hate to think I offended you both. It never was my intention to hurt you.’
On X, some viewers critiqued Stephen’s actions, with @demelcy saying: ‘Stephen is so rude and outdated. #celebsgodating.’
@Carrie10309666 added: ‘Ya if I was Stephen I would just get up and leave u cannot get any lower than that behavior tbh.’

Others empathised with him, with @DannyJBarton stating: ‘Catching up on tonight’s episode of #CelebsGoDating wow! Stephen has taken a real beating! I wonder if anything changes on other dates after this feedback.’
Echoing their sentiment, @JuneGloom20 said: ‘I do feel a bit sorry for Stephen. Still think it’s too soon for him to be on this show. #CelebsGoDating.’
A Celebs Go Dating spokesperson previously told Metro.co.uk: ‘Any concern regarding behaviour is investigated and dealt with accordingly in line with our robust protocols.
‘The welfare of everyone involved and working on our show is always of primary importance.

‘Stephen’s conduct during his date with Dean is firmly dealt with by the agents on Monday night’s show, during which Dean also has an opportunity to address Stephen directly.’
Celebs Go Dating also stars the likes of Made in Chelsea’s Tristan Phillips, actress Helen Flanagan and MAFS UK’s Ella Morgan.
When rumours first started circulating that Stephen had signed up to the reality dating series, his ex-husband Daniel said that he would ‘definitely support him and watch’.
Asked by The Sun whether he thought it was ‘too soon’ for his ex to jump back into dating on national TV, he explained they’d been single for around 10 months at that time.
‘He’ll be a very good candidate. He’s got some very very funny stories if he is going on it. I want him to find love again. We always want our exes and friends to find love and just to be happy,’ he said.
Celebs Go Dating is available to stream on Channel 4.
