Love Is Blind UK allowed us a front-row seat as singletons tried to find their forever person, and while we got to see a lot, there were some things we weren’t privy to during the Netflix series.

The experiment began with each of the love hopefuls meeting potential partners in the famous pods.

Over 10 days, they got to know each other with a wall between them keeping what they looked like a mystery.

If they fell in love, then a proposal took place and only then did the big reveal take place.

To make sure they made the right decisions and really gave themselves time to fall completely for someone, they spent hours talking to each other.

Jasmine, 29, and Bobby, 32, recalled their longest conversation was four hours, and their ability to yap for so long has clearly provided a good basis as they are now celebrating one year of marriage.

With access to both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to keep their golden wine glasses full, the inevitable does happen, and Jasmine recalled it can be very boring when this happens.

‘When Bobby went to the toilet, I’d be saying “Please, hurry up”,’ she recalled to Metro.co.uk. Having to sit alone in a room with no voice to keep you company can slow time down considerably, and Netflix has omitted these awkward moments to keep the flow of romance.

Jasmine also revealed that the extent of her nerves on their wedding day wasn’t fully shown.

While the vows were undoubtedly romantic, as they pledged to be together forever, Jasmine couldn’t help giggling.

‘The wedding being legally binding after only a month of knowing each other felt like a lot leading up to it, but I didn’t feel too nervous,’ she explained to Metro.co.uk.

However, things quickly changed unexpectedly when Jasmine was reunited with her groom at the wedding ceremony.

‘When I got to the altar, oh my gosh, I was shaking like a leaf. I was laughing, and that’s never happened to me before. I was thinking “Why is my body responding like this?”‘

Maria said: ‘I’m not a mug’ (Picture: Netflix)

Maria, 30, felt the nerves too walking down the aisle to meet Tom, 38, but insisted that everything wasn’t as it seemed in the wedding special episode.

Viewers saw Tom decide to say I don’t, due to opposing values. He explained that if they had children he wouldn’t want to raise boys to accept having to pay for dates, and worried that he wouldn’t be able to raise any potential daughters as strong and independent.

‘I am taken aback. I’ve always wanted to get married, it’s always been the end goal for me. Him saying no hurt me, and there is always going to be a sadness in me because I really wish our paths could have been different,’ said Maria after the ceremony.

‘It wasn’t like Tom said “no” and I was a “yes”. That’s not at all the case,’ said Maria.

A diplomatic Demi, who was sat alongside her at the junket held in London to celebrate the series, stated: ‘That’s not a bad thing anyway.’

‘Yes it is, I’m not a mug,’ she interjected.

‘We both knew there was so much more to learn about each other, and there were solid values that we were very opposing on.

‘There were things missing from each other. There’s things about me that I don’t have, and there’s definitely things about him that he doesn’t have.’

Tom added he feels for Maria as that isn’t how women dreams of when they think of their wedding.

‘Maria and I both knew it was the right decision, but it was a really tough day.’

He continued: ‘I really feel for Maria because it probably wasn’t the way that she’d anticipated it going.

‘One minute you like, it’s a definite yes. And then the next it’s maybe not. If it’d been a clear-cut decision, we probably wouldn’t have been in the experiment as long as we were.’

After watching the episodes back, he also felt remorseful reliving when he told Maria that he judged her for being a makeup artist.

‘That was a difficult watch for me because it shined a bit of a mirror on some of my own prejudices,’ he said.

‘I’m somebody who’s worked pretty hard to get in a position where I’m sort of doing okay in my life, financially, but that doesn’t give me a right to have an opinion on another person’s occupation or income.

‘That in particular was a big moment for me to think where those prejudices come from, and it’s given me a real opportunity to reflect on it. If I had my time again, I wouldn’t say it.’

Catherine wanted to get married (Picture: Netflix)

Catherine, 29, did want to marry Freddie, 32, and felt very sure that she was about to have her one and only wedding day.

‘I wouldn’t have got my friends and family to travel there if I didn’t think we were getting married,’ she stated.

‘I would never bring my family into that environment otherwise. It was dramatic, but I have learned so much from it, including what I want in a guy and how I want to feel on my wedding day because that wasn’t fun.’

The funeral director didn’t have such a good time on their wedding day either, joking: ‘I think I prefer funerals.’

The aftermath of the bombshell rejection is not something viewers get to watch either. Catherine revealed she refused to speak to her family for two days and instead didn’t leave Freddie’s hotel room. ‘It was a mentally challenging time and I’m strong.’

Despite not marrying, the pair continued to date but after a few weeks, they realised it wasn’t going to work. ‘I’m grateful now that we didn’t get married, as I don’t think we’d have lasted a day,’ she said in hindsight.

Freddie explained: ‘When the pressure wasn’t there anymore, or the intensity of the experiment, I didn’t feel suffocated by everything and it gave me clarity. After speaking to my family in private, it became transparent to me that it wasn’t gonna work.’

Ahead of their wedding, Freddie and Catherine reach a point of contention while discussing his desire to have a pre-nuptial agreement, but she claims it was just a case of miscommunication.

‘I didn’t even know what a prenup was. I was confused, so we actually stopped filming and I had to ask the producer what a prenup was,’ she said.

‘What the viewers haven’t seen is I agreed with Freddie. I don’t want his money. I did not want anything. I thought that was crazy because I’ve got nothing to give him, apart from my cat. I respected that request from him.’

Another revelation we didn’t get to see is Nicole, 29, instantly saying she didn’t want to head on a trip to Greece with Sam, 31.

After the couples got engaged, they were all sent off on holiday to build on their pod connections. However, Nicole wasn’t initially there despite accepting Sam’s proposal.

Nicole chose Benaiah (Picture: Netflix)

‘I felt in my gut that something wasn’t right with Sam. So when I was saying yes to Sam, although it doesn’t show it, I did say I did not want to go to Greece but I wanted to explore things in a different setting to see if Sam was there for the right intentions. I’d say I knew fairly quickly that it wasn’t good.’

Despite the journey and being torn between two men during the pods, Nicole was certain it was Benaiah when it came to their wedding day.

‘I knew that no matter the outcome, I knew his heart was in the right place and that’s all you can want from a potential husband,’ she said.

Ollie and Demi decided not to get married (Picture: Netflix)

Ollie, 32, and Demi, 30 did make it to Greece together, but it wasn’t long before the former wanted to leave, as his co-stars voiced negative opinions on their connection.

Now, he wants to set the record straight on why he wanted to leave, and communicate his annoyance that the cast and some viewers didn’t believe his attraction to Demi.

‘One of the biggest frustrations I had then, and even more so now, actually seeing the online reaction is this really short-sighted view that I’m not attracted to Demi,’ he explained.

Ollie added: ‘This discourse began before I even met her. It plays into this whole stereotype of what the archetypal beauty standard is. And it’s just ridiculous because we don’t all for the same people. Women come in different shapes, sizes, shades, heights, so why can’t we appreciate that?

‘In Greece, the outside noise did put on pressure.

‘There was a point when I said, I want to leave and it was never leave her, it was leave with her,’ he clarified. ‘It was never my intention to leave her. It was a case of, maybe we’re actually better off without the experiment right now. We can actually flourish more. But we stuck it out, and I’m glad we did.’
