Despite now being a world record holder, Spencer Matthews refuses to entertain the idea of getting a knighthood.
The former Made In Chelsea star has just completed a gruelling challenge that would leave most people in tears: running 30 consecutive marathons in 30 days across the Jordanian desert.
Before starting his 1,266 kilometre journey, Spencer admitted that his wife Vogue Williams, 38, had warned it could ‘kill him’.
Now, the 36-year-old TV icon – who celebrated his birthday mid-run – has finally finished the endurance feat and raised an impressive £342,508 for Global’s Make Some Noise charity.
The mammoth Great Desert Challenge has not been overlooked and now bookies have predicted Spencer is odds on to be named in the New Year Honours List.
However, Spencer is not so certain and told Metro.co.uk: ‘I can’t imagine there’s any truth to that whatsoever.’

Despite having not eaten properly since finishing his final marathon hours before, the star was in good spirits, adding: ‘I think it’s very funny. I can’t imagine something that would wind people up more than that. That is phenomenal.’
Chuckling, Spencer dismissed the ‘hilarious’ speculation and joked: ‘It’s certainly something that I will dine out on, regardless of its origin or truth. Who’s said that?’
The rumours have been backed by Ladbrokes who put him at 10/1 odds to be dubbed Sir Spencer.
‘After running 30 desert marathons in 30 days in aid of charity, punters feel Spencer Matthews is deserving of a knighthood for his incredible achievement,’ shared Nicola McGeady.
Spencer on the other hand simply feels the entire experience has ‘humbled’ him and he now hopes to ‘take less for granted’ in life.

He shared: ‘Not having access to toilets or running water or cold water to drink [then] suddenly you come to a hotel and you’ve got freezing cold water and pizza on tap.
‘That’s not how a lot of the world lives. It’s an interesting time to reflect on how lucky we are.’
Before embarking on the Guinness World Record attempt, he told Metro.co.uk he was looking forward to using a real toilet and sleeping on a proper bed when he returned.
Spencer, who lost his brother Michael to an Everest climb, joked his celebration meal would be pineapple on pizza but wasn’t fussed as long as he was with his family.

Vogue, who he married in 2018, and two of their children – Theodore and Gigi – met Spencer at the finish line, having flown out to Jordan and driven three hours to find him in the desert.
The podcast host grinned and revealed his wife’s comment that she would be ‘in awe’ of his efforts if he succeeded had kept him going over the long month.
‘I’ve never forgotten that,’ he said. ‘It’s the type of thing she would never say so she means it, deep down.
‘She says she’s proud of me, of course, but that and messages from friends and family were keeping me going.’
Crossing the finish line is something Spencer will ‘never forget’ but he’s not about to jump into more endurance challenges, despite his love of ‘the jeopardy’.
‘It’s not the end of it but I suspect I won’t take on another 30-day challenge – it is quite the commitment,’ the TV personality considered. ‘The 1,200km, or whatever it is I ran, is a lot over 30 days.

‘And it’s also a long time to be away from my kids and family. So I’ll, no doubt start pondering some other events at some point but I have, I have no idea what that is now.’
Considering the future, Spencer said: ‘I struggled with booze for many years, if you told me this 10 years ago or even five years ago, it would have been completely unfeasible that this would be a reality.
‘So for me, it just marks progress and we’re closing a chapter on this challenge but it’s a whole new start to a chapter in my life. I do genuinely think that this could change my life.
‘It might change the direction of some of the things I do professionally. Who knows?’
