Esai Givens and Taemin fought each other with batons to win $100,000 in Ice Poseidon’s battle royale event, but a mistake saw them share the prize.

Livestreamer Ice Poseidon was one of the biggest content creators on Twitch, before he was permanently banned in 2017, after revealing his location at an airport and later being thrown off his flight when someone called in a fake bomb threat in his name.

After his ban, he moved over to Kick, where he is still up to his controversial antics, such as hiring a sex worker for a random person and broadcasting it.

In a new attempt to entertain his fans, Ice Poseidon hosted a Hunger Games style competition, including 50 content creators and a $100,000 (£75,000) prize, but the wrong winner was crowned.

The battle royale competition worked by dividing the contestants into teams, in a large, designated area, and giving them helmets and vests, which detect hits from other participants.

The content creators used paintball guns, batons, and shields to hit each other, and once the green light on the vest disappeared, the contestant was out of the game.

The final battle saw Esai Givens and Taemin face off, violently whacking away at each other, and by the end the former was declared the winner – with one health point left.

However, after further inspection, the data revealed that Taemin was actually the winner of the £75,000 prize, which forced Ice Poseidon to change his initial decision.

‘After reviewing the server data for the hit detection vests, I unfortunately have to overturn the win. The last man standing with health left was actually Taemin, the Korean, for the 100k win,’ he said on Twitter.

While Taemin was the real winner, because Ice Poseidon felt bad about his mistake he decided to give both finalists $50,000 each.

It’s unclear what the finalists think about the decision to split the prize money, asGivens went from being crowned the winner to winning nothing, but still received $50,000 (£38,000).

Taemin on the other hand might be upset that he didn’t get the full £75,000, as he was technically the real winner.

The competition was as chaotic as it sounds, and at one point Ice Poseidon was even shooting at the contestants himself, with a machine gun, from a helicopter.
