Months after her breakup, Pokimane is going ‘mad’ from the struggle of finding someone new, as she is waitlisted on exclusive dating app Raya.

Earlier this year one of Twitch’s longest serving streamers, Pokimane, left the platform after almost 10 years, partially blaming male toxicity for her exit, as she started to focus more on her YouTube content.

Her YouTube videos often reveal events from her personal life, with one recent example being how she broke up with her boyfriend.

Now, in another video, Pokimane has informed her fans that she’s back on the dating scene – or at least trying to be – as she discuses finding someone in Los Angeles and her troubles with exclusive celebrity dating app Raya.

‘Living in LA, I really don’t meet that many new people. […] Even when you go to parties or events, or whatever, people are not that friendly. Unless they know that they can benefit from you, but that’s a story for another day,’ Pokimane said, adding:

‘Frankly, one of the best ways to date is dating apps, but in the past when I’ve tried to use dating apps, everybody reports me, because they think I’m catfishing myself.’

So Pokimane turned to Raya, which she said is supposed to be an exclusive dating app used by celebrities.

To use the app, however, you have to apply and be accepted, and although Pokimane said that’s ‘so cringe’, she also thinks it might be the best way to find someone new.

That quickly changed, as it took Raya more than two months to reply to her application, saying that she had been waitlisted, which Pokimane wasn’t having.

‘And you know what? Maybe I’m not that fine and famous, but I’m not bad. So now I’m kind of mad. Now, out of sheer pettiness, I don’t want to f****** use it,’ she said with a laugh.

If the rejection has her feeling down, Pokimane only needs to look back to July, when she received 128 bids at a charity auction, for up to £22,000, from fans who just wanted the chance to play video games with her.
