Hollywood legend Glenn Close has shocked fans with her unexpected role — and epic line delivery — in Netflix film The Deliverance.
The 77-year-old star is known for her roles in Fatal Attraction and 101 Dalmations but looks utterly unrecognisable in the new horror.
Loosely based on a true story, the creepy tale sees the Jackson family move into a new house where strange supernatural occurrences begin.
The home is actually a portal to hell and the youngest child Dre ends up possessed by an entity known as Tre.
However, it is Glenn’s performance as grandmother Alberta which has captivated and baffled audiences.
One particular line caused quite the kerfuffle with viewers, who took to X to brand it ‘a crime’ to make the Glenn deliver it.

‘I can smell your nappy p***y,’ the eight-time Academy Award nominee states while possessed and lying in a hospital bed.
‘Lee Daniels you will pay for your Crimes for having Glenn Close say this,’ wrote High5Ki on X.
Zkleverton added: ‘I thought y’all were just being mean saying this was glenn close. THATS ACTUALLY GLENN CLOSE.’
Joking about the acting legend’s recent filmography, PaulSRai teased: ‘Guys, we need to find a way to give Glen Close an Oscar, ‘cause I’m afraid how low and crazy Close is going to get with these roles.’
Also referencing her repeated Oscar snubs, LaNoireDe said: ‘I blame the academy. If they had given her the Oscar that she deserved for the wife her career would have taken a different turn.’
Even the director Lee Daniels poked fun at the wild line as he shared the clip and added: ‘Had to do it 🤝🏽😂.’
The film has been out on Netflix to stream since August 30 after a short two-week stint in selected cinemas.
While Glenn hasn’t managed to secure any Oscars in her prolific acting career, she has won three Tony Awards for her roles on Broadway.

She also has three Golden Globes and three Emmy wins, which puts her at half way to the coveted EGOT status.
In the late 80s, she came close to securing the status as she also landed three Grammy nominations.
Viewers of The Deliverance don’t seem convinced it’ll be her Oscar win as critics have on average given it middling reviews, with a meagre 30% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The cast also includes Stranger Things’ Caleb McLaughlin, The United States vs. Billie Holiday star Andra Day and comedian Mo’Nique.
The Deliverance is available to watch on Netflix now.
