Nicole Kidman appears to have been drinking from the fountain of youth as she stunned at the LA premiere of her new Netflix thriller The Perfect Couple.

The 57-year-old Babygirl actor did not look a day older than her co-stars who are nearly half her age, Eve Hewson, 33, and Meghann Fahy, 34, as she posed next to them on the red carpet.

Wearing a deep V-neck dark brown shimmering dress, the Practical Magic star, also cuddled up to her on-screen husband Liev Schreiber, 56, who looked dapper in a black suit and white shirt.

In The Perfect Couple, Nicole Kidman plays rich novelist Greer Garrison Winbury whose son Benji Winbury’s (Billy Howle) high society wedding to Amelia Sacks (Hewson) is derailed when a dead body washes up on shore.

Liev plays her husband Tag Winbury, while making up the rest of the Winbury family, are Benji’s older brother Thomas (Jack Reynor), and his pregnant wife Abby (Dakota Fanning), younger brother Will (Sam Nivola), and family friend Isabel Nallet (Isabelle Adjani)

Joining them at the Nantucket wedding are maid of honour Merritt Monaco (Meghann Fahy), and best man Shooter Dival (Ishaan Khattar).

The show’s director Susanne Bier, responsible for series including The Night ManagerThe Undoing, spoke to Metro.co.uk about an ‘uncomfortable’ sex scene between Nicole and Liev’s characters.

They engage in a rather tense sexual encounter that begins after Greer repeatedly tells her husband not to touch her. She then succumbs and they have sex fully clothed against a window.

She said: ‘It’s sort of a little bit of an uncomfortable sex scene in there. It doesn’t feel entirely mutual in a way.

‘It was a way of describing the emotional thing that was going on between the two of them, as opposed to just describing the physical.

‘But also, it was very conscious. We understand exactly what’s going on, but we are still keeping certain things literally on the ropes,’ she said describing the character’s position with her back to her husband and her body pressed against a window.’

Nicole previously compared the experience of filming The Perfect Couple to ‘theatre’ in an interview with PA.

She said: ‘The director Sussane [Bier] was like “This is something you haven’t done and I want you to go and have fun with it”. So I did and it was just a great group of actors.

‘It was almost like doing theatre at some points because we would work the scenes, and then she would shoot them.’

Fans have been desperate to binge the thriller, which is out on Netflix today, with YouTube account Jumbaride describing it as ‘Knives Out meets Big Little Lies meets White Lotus.’

NicholeJ added: ‘This might be the thing to save Netflix for the autumn.’ Let’s not forget we also have new episodes of Emily In Paris, and Selling Sunset this month too.’

Oscar-winner Nicole has had a busy work year, recently starring in Netflix age-gap flick, A Family Affair, alongside Zac Efron, 36.

While it was widely panned by critics who branded it a ‘laundry film’, the movie shot to number one in the streamer’s global movie charts after being viewed 26,800,000 times.

She is also starring in new erotic thriller Babygirl as a tech CEO who embarks on a torrid affair with a new young intern (played by 28-year-old Harris Dickinson),

The Moulin Rouge star said ahead of its Venice Film Festival premiere that she was ‘frightened’ at the thought of people watching it because of how ‘vulnerable’ she felt making it due to explicit sex scenes.

However, she also stressed that she never felt ‘exploited’ during filming as it was ‘a story that I wanted to be a part of’ and ‘enormous care taken by all of us’ when it came to intimate scenes.

Antonio Banderas and Bafta nominee Sophie Wilde, who play Romy’s husband Jacob and assistant Esme, respectively, also star in Babygirl.

The Perfect Couple is available to stream on Netflix.
