Foo Fighters star Dave Grohl has issued a bombshell statement in which he confesses cheating on his wife and welcoming a secret child with another woman.

Taking to Instagram tonight, the musician, 55, began: ‘I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside my marriage.’

He continued: ‘I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her.

‘I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.’

Dave concluded: ‘We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.’

Boasting 1.4million followers on the social media site, he turned comments off on the post.

Following the announcement, fans took to X to express their shock, given that Dave has long had a reputation as one of showbusiness’s nicest stars.

Some even admitted to feeling ‘betrayed’ by the American rocker, declaring: ‘This was not on my 2024 bingo card.’

Dave has been married to TV producer Jordyn Blum, 48, since 2003, and they share three children: Violet Maye, 18, Harper Willow, 15, and Ophelia Saint, 10.

Since the reveal that their father has another baby, his teenage daughters have deactivated their own social accounts.

The Times Like These singer and his other half were seen publicly in July as they attended Wimbledon together in London.

While putting on a stylish display in the star-studded box, in hindsight fans now believe their display was frosty.

Jordyn is Dave’s second wife, as he was previously married to photographer Jennifer Leigh Youngblood from 1994 until 1997.

Dave later admitted to being unfaithful to her, which led to the demise of their relationship.

Prior to meeting Dave, Jordyn worked as a model and appeared on covers for Teen Vogue.

She moved on from modelling to become a producer at MTV, which is where she met Dave in 2001.

Speaking previously about the early days of their romance, Dave shared that they first crossed paths at Sunset Marquis Whiskey Bar, but things didn’t get off to the strongest start.

He told Elle in 2007: ‘When I first met my wife, we went out on a few dates and I decided that I wasn’t ready for a serious relationship, so I just stopped calling.’

‘After three months, I had a revelation and called her back,’ he added. ‘She picked up the phone and said, “Oh, I never thought I’d hear from you again”.’

In the years since, Jordyn has collaborated with her husband on Foo Fighters projects, inspiring songs such as Statues and Burn Away.

She also made an appearance in their White Limo music video and co-directed the band’s 2002 music video, Walking A Line.

Foo Fighters have been on tour much of this summer following the release of their But Here We Are album last year.

They currently have one future gig scheduled, which will see them play a set at the Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on September 29.
