Fans left raging as viral Primark cardigan appears on Vinted at DOUBLE the price, others don’t get why it’s ‘so special’
A VIRAL cardigan from Primark proved so popular among shoppers that it is now being listed on Vinted for over the double the original price.
Fashion fans criticised the online users who bought out the stylish item to re-sell it at an inflated amount.

In her viral video, TikTok user Georgia Churchill (@georgiachurchill) shared her thoughts on the situation.
“I’m sorry, what? This is Primark we’re talking about,” she pointed out to her followers.
“I know everyone is going absolutely crazy for this viral cardigan from Primark but I was absolutely gobsmacked when I saw the price of it on Vinted.”
Georgia explained that she saw the viral item for £40 on various Vinted accounts.
However, the look is currently retailing for just £19 at Primark’s locations.
The cardigan in question is a simple button-up with two front square pockets.
It is available in a variety of colours and is part of the shop’s latest autumnal collection.
“I’m going to be honest, it’s a lovely cardigan but £40? Are you OK?” Georgia asked.
She added that she owns a similar item in her wardrobe, pointing out that the style isn’t hard to find elsewhere.
“I mean I have a cardigan in my wardrobe that looks the same,” she told her audience.
Georgia also said she was glad she didn’t rush to buy the item after some shoppers reported that it wasn’t the best quality.
The unimpressed TiKToker concluded that “the world has gone insane.”
Other online users shared their thoughts on the up charging in the comments section.
“I really don’t know the hype around it, it’s OK, I did try it on but it’s soooo itchy I put it back,” wrote one viewer.
“I was thinking to send messages to people selling them on Vinted [asking if they are] joking,” said another person.

Here, Fabulous fashion editor Clemmie Fieldsend reveals her top 6 buys from Primark this Autumn.
Coat, £60I know what you’re thinking, ‘£60 for Primark?’ Yes it’s a higher price tag than we’re used to from Primark but its worth every penny. It’s from their Edit range which is more premium than the rest of their collection and it’s made to last. It’s a mixed wool blend which is durable and warm, plus its a timeless straight silhouette which is slightly oversized and will last you not only this season but for many after.
Bag, £16Big bags are back… In a big way, finally. This tote screams luxury with its croc effect and burnt orange colour, plus its great for shoving in your laptop, lunch, spare shoes, purse – essentially everything you need for the day – all for £16.
Jacket, £32Field jackets are on the backs of celebrities and catwalk models this season with designer brands Barbour, Burberry and Bottega all championing the utilitarian look. They’re great for chucking over jeans or contrasting with a floral or floaty dress and are the perfect transitional jacket.
Dress, £18,You may have seen, heard and read that leopard print isn’t going anywhere for autumn, so to encapsulate the trend this dress is a must.Sleeves? Check. Midi length? Check. Ultra flattering square neck? Check. It’s got it all.Pair with black knee high boots or your favourite trainers for the day and dress up with gold heels and accessories for the evening.
Jeans, £16Barrel, balloon, horseshoe – whatever you want to call them, they are the must have trouser shape of this season.I’ve tried Primarks pair and they fit like a dream, are comfortable and flattering. So if you think you have nothing that hits the trend mark, swapping your go-to denim for this shape will bring you bang up to date.
Boots, £24It’s boot season and instead of feeling like you need to buy one in every colour, length, height – its best to stick to a pair that you can wear with the majority of your wardrobe. My jaw almost hit the floor when I saw that this black, knee-high, block heel with flat point and side zip (so there’s no tug of war to get them off at the end of the day) was only £24.If you buy one thing this season, it should be these.
“People have no shame, oh my God,” commented a third TikTok user.
“People need to stop buying it from these girls and letting them do it, winds me up so much,” pointed out another follower.
“People are wild, gal, [I] agree,” said one commenter.
Others pointed out that this isn’t the first time Vinted users have inflated an item’s worth.
“Someone was selling the £17 burgundy jumper for £50,” wrote one viewer.
