We’re work besties & tested size 10 vs size 18 supermarket fashion with an autumn Sainsbury’s haul

THESE days shops are more inclusive than ever when it comes to sizing.

But which brands come out top of the shops?

My work bestie and I tried Tu clothes

We loved the super soft range for autumn

My work bestie and I often turn up at the office in almost identical outfits – entirely unplanned.

While we’re different sizes, I’m a 10 and Katy is an 18, and different ages, I’m 44 while my pal is 33, we recently both arrived at our desks wearing black and white, silky, polka dot maxi dresses with matching overnight curls.

And that’s when we decided it was time to put our twinning skills to good use.

So we’re on a mission to try the same styles in different sizes from a range of high street favourites to see what works – and whether there really is something that works ‘for everybody‘.

First on our haul hit-list is Sainsbury’s fashion range Tu Clothing. More and more people buy their clothes in supermarkets with convenience, price and quality all being factors.

And Tu has some got gorgeous staples in for autumn – ideal as today is officially the first day of the season.

We decided to try a work outfit, an everyday wear combo and a going out look.

First up was the office outfit – and we tried a pair of stunning forest green cord trousers with an oversized black T-shirt and double buttoned black blazer.

This was a win for both of us – Katy sized up in the trousers, which are really wide legged and comfy for a different work look, and came in at just £22.

They looked super cool with the T-shirt – which we sized up for an easy look in a size 12 and 20 – tucked in, with a belt for Katy and without for me. This was just £5 and will worn to death by both of us, no doubt.

The hour-glass shaped blazer, which again we sized up in to a 12 and 20, really smartened up the whole look. It’s slightly pricier at £28 but will be an easy staple to wear with loads of work combos.

Next up we tried the on-trend leopard print dress for an everyday look.

This midaxi length classic, which we got in a 10 and 18, is unbelievably soft and wears like a dream no matter what size, shape or age you are.

At £18 this is a total bargain and Katy and I are going to have to fight to schedule in when we wear this so as not to twin too much!

For an even more comfy and casual look we paired the dress with a cosy beige jumper, with a pretty batwing sleeve, again in a size 18 and 10.

This, again, is incredibly soft and looked so cute over the dress, which we wore in two different ways with belts one tucked in and one tucked under.

It’s definitely going to become a favourite this season – priced at just £22 – although Katy’s mum has already claimed hers.

Finally, for a day drinks and tapas with friends look, we tried a classic black dress, in a crepe material.

We tried the tie waist, midi length, dress in a size 10 and 18. And while it’s super comfy and could look chic it wasn’t our favourite.

Katy said from a plus-size point of view, a tie waist can be really flattering but there’s a small fold detail above the waist which put us off.

This is one that has to be tried to see if it suits.

All in all we were delighted with the haul from Tu – there’s some brilliant staples in there that will be worn over and over and the sizing is ideal for both our ages and sizes.

All filming was done in the beautiful Liberty Suite at the AC Marriot Glasgow Hotel in the city’s George Street
