Usher has returned to X after he sparked concern for seemingly wiping his social media account shortly following the arrest of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.

Combs, who was a mentor to Usher, was arrested and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

Fans speculated that the timing of the Yeah! hitmaker’s social cleanse was a little odd, given his close connection to P Diddy and videos resurfacing online.

One clip showed Kevin Hart interviewing the two men in which Combs said they used to ‘wrestle’ over cereal while others saw Usher discussing his teenage years living at his mentor’s house.

The 45-year-old singer has now set the record straight after fans linked the bizarre social blackout to the current legal case.

‘Account got hacked and damn y’all ran with it!’ Usher, full name Usher Raymond IV, wrote before adding he would see fans that evening at his gig in California.

However, his assurances didn’t go down well with followers who responded with sceptical comments about the ‘crazy coincidence’.

‘So crazy how it got hacked…but instead of posting crazy stuff, the hacker just DELETED your posts and Diddy just got arrested…and all the stuff with Justin Bieber,’ wrote @silencedoogoode.

They continued: ‘Soooooo weird we all “ran with it”. Right bro.’

‘U got hacked and the hackers decided to delete all your tweets instead of tweeting random stuff?’ questioned @YSLONIKA.

‘LMAO they always say I was hacked this is classic 😂,’ added @liittledemon_ to which @kramarcollects replied: ‘These crazy coincidences man.’

His account appears to be back to normal, with some fans reporting they had seen a handful of cryptocurrency-related tweets before the wipe.

@QuestDWMT defended: ‘We are in the age of misinformation. Usher’s page has been getting hacked by crypto users for weeks… but believe what ya want.’

‘Usher’s account was hacked since last week, but created a narrative you have to report this,’ added @themgofeelit.

Usher has not yet spoken out about the Combs case but various clips of old interviews have caused a stir.

In one interview he joked he was the ‘parent’ at 13 years old for trying to insist Combs went to the studio rather than partying constantly.

While being interviewed by Howard Stern, the OMG singer said he would not want his children to be sent to that kind of environment.

‘There were very curious things taking place and I didn’t necessarily understand it,’ Usher stated.

Another old interview showed the Grammy winner asking why Combs had ‘got him in clubs’ when he was too young to be there.

The 54-year-old musician is said to be on suicide watch while currently remanded to Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center after being denied bail twice.

His Los Angeles mansion was raided in March, police reportedly seized supplies intended for use in orgies, including drugs and more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil.

The current court case against him follows a year in which several women filed lawsuits against him, including his ex Cassie, who said he used his authority to orchestrate a ‘manipulative and coercive romantic and sexual relationship.’
