Fashionistas race to nab new ‘autumn essential’ bag from M&S that ‘fits lots in’ – and it’s a dupe for £350 designer buy

IF anyone knows how to perfect the modern capsule wardrobe, it’s Cos.

The mid-range fashion brand loves infinitely wearable style staples that stay trendy year-on-year.

But what does one do when we have Cos taste, but not Cos money?

Fortunately, we can turn to the trusty designers at Marks & Spencer.

The great British store has released a brand new Cos dupe ahead of autumn – and it’ll save you an eye-watering £305.

The £45 M&S Collection Quilted Shoulder Bag is a dead ringer for Cos’ £350 Quilted Oversized Crossbody Bag in black leather.

“This shoulder bag is a standout choice with its striking quilted design,” M&S bosses said.

“It’s made in a contemporary slouchy silhouette, with a zip fastening to keep your essentials secure.

“Internal zipped and slip pockets help you stay organised.”

Fashionistas who have already nabbed the bag have left it sparkling reviews on the M&S website.

One reads: “I love this bag.

“It’s a lovely soft material and it’s big, so it fits lots in.

“And it looks very premium – I’ve had lots of compliments from people thinking it’s designer.”

Another says: “It’s a great size and really soft, like a soft leather but stronger.

“It looks great and I am going to be using it a lot.”

Cos bosses recognise that their quilted bag – which went viral on TikTok last autumn as a “season essential” – is a style icon.

WANT to look fabulous this season? Then listen up…

Here, Fabulous’ fashion editor, Clemmie Fieldsend, says these are the top 5 trends from the hottest catwalk designers for autumn 2024.
BOHO: The boho revival is a much needed breath of fresh air for autumn and means you can wear your sheer tops, girly frocks and big jeans with heavy duty boots.
But if the clothes aren’t for you think, big accessories like slouchy tote bags, big earrings and bigger bangles.
TEXTURE: Be it smooth leather, sumptuous faux fur or soft suede, textures are everywhere this season.
They add depth to your look, making you stand out as well as look more expensive.
BURGUNDY: Maroon, oxblood, berry- whatever you choose to call it fashion is seeing red this autumn.
The deep and rich colour is everywhere and works best with greys, black, dark blues and in head-to-toe.
LADY LIKE: Matching top and cardigan sets and pencil skirts sound dated but they go hand-in-hand with lady-like.
Mix with satin cami dresses and waisted blazers for an ultra feminine look.
LEOPARD PRINT: This season 75% of the catwalk was leopard print, according to Tagwalk – a huge majority.
It crawled its way in last season but its rife for autumn and all over the high street, be it shoes or floor sweeping coats, it’s a must have trend.

So, it makes sense why high-street retailers like M&S are trying to emulate the design at a cheaper price point.

“Retaining the signature pillowy, cloud-like texture, this oversized version is dually designed to be slung across the body or worn on your shoulder,” they said about their £350 bag.

“And it has a subtle zipped pocket on one side to keep your valuables close to hand.

“It’s offered in an enduring black hue and will be the headline of your outfit, no matter what you style it with.”
