Netflix fans are urging viewers to watch a 00s comedy-drama that has flown under the radar.
They’ve said the show, which is available to stream on the platform in the UK and on Peacock in the US, ‘deserves to receive the Suits type of revival hype.’
So cancel all your social plans and spend a weekend catching up on the detective programme Psych.
First airing in 2006, the series follows Santa Barbara Police Department Shawn Spencer (James Roday) who helps solve crimes with his psychic abilities.
He’s assisted by his smart best friend and reluctant partner Gus (Dulé Hill), as well as his former detective father Henry (Corbin Bernsen).
On Reddit, user SuspectAware declared that Psych was ‘soo good’ but ‘not talked about enough.’
Viewers have said their eyes were ‘glued to the screen’ while watching Psych (Picture: Alan Zenuk/USA Network/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images)
They raved: ‘I recently got into it after obsessing over The Mentalist and it’s so good I can’t believe every time I tell ppl about it they never heard of it.
‘It was supposed to be some silly background watch but now my eyes are glued to the screen. The comedy and humour are brilliant.
‘Shawn and Gus 1 brain cell dynamic is truly the backbone of the show and just hilarious. Their brotherhood is unmatched.
‘I love all the characters, the little growth from Shawn, the slow romance/chemistry between Jules and Shawn and the cast is so pretty.
‘The show (alongside The Mentalist) deserves to receive the Suit type of revival hype. needed to talk about it, I just love the chaos and how morally ambiguous messy Shawn is.’

Agreeing, Stinduh said Psych’s impact on the procedural crime genre was equivalent to legendary comedy Community’s influence on sitcoms.
They continued: ‘They’re both incredible in their own right, but play on the meta tropes of the genre through fun, engaging, and satisfying narratives.
‘Borders on irreverence, but takes itself just seriously enough to be more than an extended parody sketch.
‘And of course, Shawn and Gus rule the show.’
Psych was created for the USA Network by showrunner Steve Frank and it ran for eight seasons and 120 episodes until 2014.

If you manage to devour all of Psych, there are plenty of other shows to binge on Netflix.
Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story has been causing a stir since it was released on the platform last week.
The drama focuses on the murder of Jose and Kitty Menendez by their two sons in 1989 and the intense interest in the case that followed in the years after.
For a lighter option, you can tune into ‘the best sitcom of the last five years’ on Netflix UK.
Bafta-nominated comedy Breeders follows parents Paul (Martin Freeman) and Ally (Daisy Haggard) who face ‘unexpected challenges’ as they navigate the trials and tribulations of parenthood with two young kids and full-time careers.
Psych is available to stream on Netflix in the UK and on Peacock in the US.
