Victoria Chic went bargain hunting in ASDA’s clothing section George and became “obsessed” with some of the items.

She shared a video as she went shopping around her local store and found some fashionable items which she believes to be dupes of Zara clothes.

Victoria says: “Oh my God, Asda’s clothes, they have upped their game.”

First up, she found a warm cream contrast panel aviator jacket for £45 which comes with two side slip pockets, and a side buckle detail.

Talking about the coat, Victoria says: “Look at this coat, like I’m sorry, Zara who? It’s so thick as well.”

And with leopard print being in season for fall 2024, George at ASDA proves they are on trend with some staple items.

They are selling a leopard print shirt, which Victoria is “obsessed with,” for £16, a tan leopard print fluffy button cardigan, for £20, and leopard print loose trousers for £16.

And if that wasn’t already enough, the budget supermarket is also selling fluffy jackets for £40.

As well as the jumpers “that everyone is wanting,” for £16.

Victoria’s video has gained over 217,000 views with many people rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts.

One shopper praised the popular supermarket for their clothing and wrote: “I’ve always liked Asda clothes and the quality it’s way better than the actual clothing stores.”

Another added: “Very very beautiful and gorgeous.”

A third gushed: “This jacket is beautiful.”

Whilst someone else said: “I have that cardigan.”

But other fashion fans were also praising Tesco’s for having something similar but cheaper.

One wrote: “Tesco have the same jacket at the beginning £5 cheaper.”

Talking about purchasing the similar coat from Tesco’s, another shopper said: “Yep I got it when it was 25% off so even better and I’m pretty sure it starts again this week.”

Is supermarket fashion the new high street?

DEPUTY Fashion Editor Abby McHale weighs in:

The supermarkets have really upped their game when it comes to their fashion lines. These days, as you head in to do your weekly food shop you can also pick up a selection of purse-friendly, stylish pieces for all the family.
Tesco has just announced a 0.7 per cent increase in the quarter thanks to a ‘strong growth in clothing’ and M&S has earnt the title of the number one destination for womenswear on the high street.
Asda’s clothing line George has made £1.5 million for the supermarket in 2023, 80 per cent of Sainsbury’s clothes sold at full price rather than discounted and Nutmeg at Morrisons sales are also up 2 per cent in the past year.
So what is it about supermarket fashion that is becoming so successful?
Apart from the clothing actually being affordable, it’s good quality too – with many being part of schemes such as the Better Cotton Initiative.
A lot of the time they keep to classic pieces that they know will last the customer year after year.
Plus because they buy so much stock they can turn around pieces quickly and buy for cheaper because of the volumes.
