Fans share disappointment as Foo Fighters cancel first show since Dave Grohl scandal-Asyia Iftikhar-Entertainment – Metro

Foo Fighters has cancelled their first scheduled performance since lead singer Dave Grohl admitted he cheated on his wife and fathered a child with another person.

The rock band was shaken by controversy earlier this month after Dave, 55, shared a statement to social media in which he admitted he was the father to a new baby daughter born outside his marriage.

He continued: ‘I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her.

‘I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.’

The confession came just weeks after they wrapped up their US and UK tour, Everything or Nothing At All, with the My Hero hitmakers set to make their post-tour stage return at the Soundside Music Festival in Connecticut, US.

The gig was meant to take place Sunday, September 29 but it wasn’t meant to be.

The band announced the disappointing news that their appearance had been pulled. Instagram comments were also promptly switched off.

On social media fans have expressed their disappointment at the cancellation and speculation that the recent scandal is behind the sudden move.

‘Imagine being part of the Foo Fighters PR team and having to deal with the current situation after decades of not ever having to put fires out,’ @nick_parco wrote on X.

‘Foo Fighters PR team having to do work for the first time in 29 years has probably been one of the most annoying things on the planet,’ @dunkintern echoed.

‘I feel like this is the beginning of the end for Foo Fighters,’ @palcetohide shared.

‘I don’t think they should’ve canceled. True fans still want to see them. Whats done is done. There’s no going back so might as well move forward. From a devoted fan!’ @charlestonlover added.

‘Not looking good dude. Dave Grohl really f**ked up,’ @bookishbelle posted.

‘Beginning of the end for the Foo Fighters? Always loved their music, but could never feel comfortable with Dave Grohl and wasn’t sure why. Now I know he’s a s****y human being,’ @imcharlikate shared.

‘Very disappointed in this decision! This is a big blow!!’ @bguite said.

Since the scandal broke, one of Dave’s alleged former partners, Kari Wuhrer, has spoken out against him, calling him a ‘scumbag’.

Dave has been married to TV producer Jordyn Blum, 48, since 2003 and the couple share three children: Violet Maye, 18, Harper Willow, 15, and Ophelia Saint, 10.

The rocker’s representatives recently had to hit back against a viral social media post from a woman who falsley alleged to be the baby’s mother.

In her since-deleted post she claimed that Dave had been ‘‘by (her) side through the entire pregnancy.’

The post continued: ‘I’m new to this whole baby mama thing, but I promise to always do my best for you. As much as I want to share my joy with the world, I also need to protect our privacy right now. I’m happy that everyone knows about you, though, because you are such a special part of my life.’

Representatives confirmed that this post was fake and the child featured in the photographs was not related to the musician.
