Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins star Chris Robshaw was left ‘devastated’ after being forced to medically withdraw from the show.

The former England rugby captain, 38, was among recruits taking part in the brutal Channel 4 programme, which saw John Barrowman quit after just 32 minutes.

Tonight’s episode saw Chris become the fourth recruit to leave the training camp, after Marnie Simpson and Tez Ilyas.

The celebrities had been put through days of gruelling tasks, with Chris suffering a shoulder injury when he was ordered to fight Love Island star Ovie Soko.

‘One of the worst scenarios, the most frightening scenario, is close quarter battle,’ ex-SAS leader Mark ‘Billy’ Billingham told them, introducing them to the task at hand.

‘Kill or be killed.’

Just minutes after Ovie and Chris began to fight though, Billy shouted out ‘Stop’, realising one had been injured.

‘I’ve dislocated my shoulder, my shoulder’s gone,’ Chris could be heard saying.

He was escorted away by a medic as the other celebrities continued with the task, with Georgia Harrison whispering: ‘This is too far for me.’

The rugby pro was assessed by a professional, who told him: ‘Your shoulder is unstable.

‘This could pop at any time, so for that reason, I’m going to have to medically withdraw you from the course.’

Chris added to cameras: ‘As a sports person, you gradually come to terms with your body can’t do it, your body is not what it is 10 years ago.

‘When you do get to that stage where you do have to move on from what you love doing, it’s really hard.

‘But you can still have a buzz, it’s just a different one.’

‘Devastated,’ he added, as he left the course.

Chris wasn’t the only celebrity who sparked concern in tonight’s episode, after Billy earlier revealed he worried about ‘killing’ Strictly Come Dancing star Pete Wicks.

At one point, the 36-year-old reality star collapsed to the floor during a tough physical task and was shown struggling to breathe before the medics were called in.

Serious fear then started to set in for Billy, 59, who worried that Pete ‘isn’t going to make it’ and said: ‘He’s going to die.’

Pete, who felt light-headed due to dehydration during the gruelling task, where the recruits had to pull heavy equipment across mountain terrain covered in snow and ice, was eventually helped by the medics, but warned that if anything similar occurred, he would have to be medically withdrawn too.

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins continues on Monday night at 9pm on Channel 4.
