So much so that many of the wedding guests go above and beyond to ensure they look dazzling on the big day – even if it’s not theirs.

Taking to social media, Mary-Kate, revealed the stunning wedding guest outfit she had put together.

While many of us would head to the high street to pick up a dress – Mary Kate decided to get her outfit handmade for the special occasion.

She had her hair in a sophisticated bun and already had her make-up done when she showed off the dress.

The dress was made with a satin fabric in sage green and had a matching fascinator hat.

“I absolutely love this. I feel like the princess from Princess and the Frog,” she said.

The stunning dress had a corset and square neckline with a full mini skirt to make her look like a princess.

Along the shoulder straps was embroidered and sequin leaves falling down and the pattern was also on the fascinator she place on the middle of her head.

Mary-Kate finished the look with a pair of matching heels and a glitzy handbag in the same colour.

The gorgeous look certainly turned heads on the big day – but some argued it was too much considering it wasn’t her wedding.

One person wrote: “You shouldn’t try to upstage the bride.”

She then shared a video of the bride walking down the aisle and wrote back ‘couldn’t if I tried.’

the clip went viral with over 800k views on her TikTok account @marykatexjoness and people were quick to comment on how amazing she looked.

Another commented: “I’m so curious do traveller girls tend to re wear the custom outfits in future or sell them after?”

Traditions in the gypsy/traveller communities

Nomadic lifestyle: Traditionally, many travellers maintain a nomadic lifestyle, living in caravans and moving frequently. This mobility is a core aspect of their identity, reflecting a deep connection to freedom and independence.
Strong family bonds: Family is central to traveller culture. Extended families often live and travel together, providing a strong support network. Marriages and social events are significant community affairs, reinforcing familial ties.
Distinct Language: Many travellers speak Shelta, also known as Cant or Gammon, a distinct language that mixes elements of Irish, English, and other languages. This language serves as a cultural marker and a means of private communication within the community.
Religious practices: The traveller community often follows Roman Catholicism, with religious festivals and milestones like baptisms, communions, and weddings being particularly significant. However, individual beliefs and practices can vary widely.
Unique celebrations: Events such as horse fairs and traditional weddings are major social gatherings for travellers. These occasions are marked by elaborate preparations, vibrant attire, and communal participation.

“I sell them and with the same money buy new ones,” she revealed.

“I wish more women dressed like this these days….timeless glamour with a real vintage classiness to it. You look stunning,” penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: “You look an absolute vision.”

“Wow… the whole look was stunning. I feel like at a non traveller wedding this would be classed as over the top and see as trying to overshadow the bride. Never understood that,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “If you showed up to my wedding wearing that I would want you in EVERY SINGLE PHOTO.”
