All Elite Wrestling star Sammy Guevara had to be carried out on a stretcher after suffering a scary injury before this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

Before Wednesday night’s show got underway, the 31-year-old wrestler – who has been signed to the WWE rival since 2019 – came out for a match with Serpentico, which was being taped to air on Ring of Honor.

According to fans on social media, the incident occurred when Serpentico jumped off the top rope, with Guevara trying to catch him and deliver a cutter, but the timing was a ‘little off’.

Instead, it’s said he landed with the former TNT Champion’s face underneath him, immediately knocking him out cold.

As reported by PWInsider, referee Bryce Remsberg noticed the issue immediately, and stopped the match, awarding the with to Serpentico and getting medical staff in the ring.

According to a reader who got in touch with the outlet, the staff looked like they were ‘enacting a concussion protocol’ on Guevera, who was eventually stretchered from the ring and taken backstage.

No further update has been given on his condition, but fans have already sent messages of support.

‘Prayers up for Sammy Guevara who got knocked out at the ROH taping before the start of #AEWDynamite 🙏🏽,’ wrote X user @AIRGold_, as @MASTERKWAZZ added: ‘Prayers to you Sammy. Wishing you a speedy recovery 🙏🏿’

And @CharmCityNitro tweeted: ‘Prayers up to Sammy. The man does so much to entertain us and for the love of wrestling. 🙏 #AEW’

A year ago, Guevara suffered a concussion at WrestleDream which kept him out for several months as there was another accident involving the cutter.

Back in January, he told Insight with Chris Van Vliet: ‘You know, I do the cutter so much and it’s the stupidest things, this cutter that I do all the time, this time just bumped my head on the canvas and then saw the future.

‘And if you go back, you can tell, okay, maybe he’s not good. But I didn’t know at that time. I actually thought that they had a match booked for me that Wednesday, I thought I was good.

‘And then it wasn’t until a couple of days later that I was like really feeling it.’
