One of the stars of a 00s TV show has shared that she’s ‘still dealing’ with filming nude scenes as a teenager, recalling her ‘uncomfortable’ experiences.

In 2007, Skins was first released on E4, becoming a cultural phenomenon for the way that it depicted teenagers having sex, doing drugs and going through issues including eating disorders.

April Pearson was one of the original stars, playing Michelle opposite fellow cast members including Nicholas Hoult as Tony, Hannah Murray as Cassie, Mike Bailey as Sid, Dev Patel as Anwar and Joe Dempsie as Chris.

In a new TikTok video, the 35-year-old actress responded to a question from a fan about her time on Skins, which she was cast in when she was 17 years old.

Her character, 16-year-old Michelle, was introduced as the girlfriend of Nicholas’ Tony, and she filmed several sex scenes during her time on the drama.

The fan in question asked if the actors on Skins actually got naked, and if doing so made them feel ‘uncomfortable’.

In response, April said in the video: ‘Yes and yes. It was very weird, and not all the time pleasant. Still dealing with it.’

After the actress’ admission, several people left supportive comments on the video, with a TikTok user called Gigii:) writing: ‘I’m so sorry that you had to deal with that April.’

‘U were so young I’m so sorry,’ domiiiii333 stated, while Andrea asked: ‘Weren’t y’all like 16-17? 😳.’

April has spoken out about her time on Skins on several occasions in the past.

In another TikTok video, she reacted with shock to her character Michelle being described as ‘jailbait beautiful’ in the script for her first scene.

‘What is jailbait beautiful? That doesn’t sound like a nice thing,’ she said at the time, when she posted the video in February last year.

A couple of years ago, April reflected on filming sex scenes for the drama with fellow Skins star Laya Lewis, who played Liv on the series in the fifth and sixth seasons.

April remarked that having an intimacy coordinator ‘simply wasn’t a thing’ when they made the E4 show, adding that she ‘wasn’t protected’.

Laya, 32, stated that having an intimacy coordinator ‘would have made so much difference’, adding: ‘I don’t even know what their job entails, but I know it would have made a huge difference on set for us.’
