Sharon Osbourne made lots of people very happy by recreating one of the most memorable The X Factor auditions of all time.

The former TV show judge was in attendance at one of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour shows in London this summer when she bumped into a fan who refused to let the opportunity just pass him by.

With nothing but a phone, a vision and a dream, TikTok user Yameurr got to work making himself go viral.

The video, which reached 1.4 million views within 14 hours of posting, was inspired by a 2007 audition on the ITV singing competition.

In series four, one woman walked into the room to perform for Sharon, Dannii Minogue, Louis Walsh, and Simon Cowell, but her pre-song chatter is what she’ll be remembered for. The conversation has outlived the series, with the audition reaching over three million on YouTube as well as being endlessly shared on social media.

The interaction began with music manager Sharon, now 71, asking for her name. ‘Rachel,’ she responded before smiling coyly and looking away from the panel.

‘And what do you for a living?’ Rachel Lester, who was dressed in skinny denim jeans, a black crop top, silver handbag and kitten heels, then revealed she was living the dream of many. ‘Nothing, I’m lazy at the moment.’

‘Do you ever sing professionally?’ Sharon followed up.

‘Of course, I’ve been singing all my life, all around the towns and everything.’

When questioned on if she was capable of winning the contest, she confidently confirmed she absolutely was – unfortunately for Rachel, she didn’t make it out of the audition stages, and the series was eventually won by Leon Jackson.

When Rachel was told to rate herself out of 10, she gave us all a valuable lesson in believing in yourself and awarded full marks after a quick moment of contemplation.

After claiming that she could sing like Prince, Cyndi Lauper, Gwen Stefani, Sheila E, Kylie Minogue, and probably Dannii too, she launched into a rendition of Sugar Walls by Sheena Easton.

17 years after the hilarious audition was aired, Sharon delighted Yameurr by reenacting the audition basically word-for-word alongside him. As they made their way through the script, Yameurr subtly reminded Sharon of her lines, with the pair stifling giggles as they delivered their parts.

‘Sharon Osbourne agreeing to recreate the Rachel X Factor Audition in 2024 is exactly why this woman is an icon – dreams can come true,’ he wrote in the caption.

Their commitment to bringing it back to life in 2024 was commended, with many praising Sharon for being a true icon.

Sofieloux wrote: ‘Please I’m howling, the giggles in between 😂😂😂’ and Emily Rolt said: ‘This is absolutely hilarious 😭😭😭😭😭 I can’t believe she went along with this 😂😂😭.’

Other fans called the 43-second clip ‘insane’, ‘iconic’ and ‘legendary’. ‘Does she know how iconic this is?’ asked Megon. We hope so!

Bradley Hunt stated: ‘This means everything.’

Attending night three of Taylor’s second round of London shows at Wembley, Sharon made a bold statement by wearing a white sweater begging Taylor to try her luck in the presidential race

Sporting her usual red hair, a pearl necklace and matching earrings, the star grinned as she posed in the jumper, which read ‘Taylor For President 2024’.
