Gogglebox star Stephen Webb was on the brink of tears talking about his ex-husband Daniel Lustig months after their shock split.

The couple, who quit Gogglebox in 2023, announced their break-up after six years of marriage earlier this year.

It’s been a remarkably harmonious split though, with both gents still vowing they’re ‘best friends’ and continue living together.

Appearing on the Suddenly Single podcast, Stephen told hosts Tim Vincent and Siobhan Wykes: ‘He’s still cooking for me, I’m still washing his pants.’

Stephen confirmed they’re now sleeping in separate bedrooms, but Daniel even joined him on Celebs Go Dating to help pick outfits for potential new matches on the Channel 4 series.

‘He’s one of the best things that ever happened to me,’ Stephen beamed, fighting back tears as he confirmed they’ll always be in each other’s lives.

I’m not going to never be friends with him. Do I think I’ll ever find someone like Daniel again? He’s going to be a hard one to beat.’

Regardless, they both began to ‘check out of the marriage’ and Stephen wanted a divorce.

‘The day I told him, we cancelled everything, went to the shops, bought lots of chocolate, crisps and sweets, sat indoors and spoke about our relationships, when we met, all the amazing things we’ve done together, we went through it all and it was really cathartic,’ he recalled.

Stephen appeared in the thirteenth series of Celebs Go Dating last month, where he was met with backlash from viewers who felt ‘uncomfortable’ following his behaviour during his dates.

At one point he pretended to fall asleep while one of his dates said he felt ‘disrespected’ by the TV star.

‘I’ve been out of the dating game for 12 years. Very rusty,’ Stephen laughed. ‘And I have got a 1970s Benny Hill sense of humour which doesn’t go down well with the under 30s….there’s a lot of people out there who are ready to be offended and ready to cancel you.’

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Stephen’s Celebs Go Dating co-star Ella Morgan said viewers had him all wrong.

‘Stephen is my best friend, and I know we’re going to be best friends forever,’ Ella told us.

‘We spent the last few days together and I said: “I know who you are, and I know your sense of humour. Some people will like you, some people won’t”. I remind him it’s a TV show, and the ones that are going to scream out and say horrible things online, they’re not worth it.’

While appearing on the Channel 4 series, Stephen had a tough time finding a connection but eventually found a spark with David.

However, just two weeks after the final episode aired, a source told The Sun that Stephen had discovered David was seeing other people and using a dating app.
