Oasis is counting down until their reunion tour kicks off in July next year with the 90s band performing many shows around the world, but there is one iconic stage they won’t be gracing: Glastonbury.

The summer festival attracts more than 200,000 people each year, and some of the industry’s most well-known names, including Sir Elton John and Beyonce, perform on the Pyramid Stage.

While it would feel only right for one of the UK’s most beloved bands to perform at one of the UK’s most beloved events, Liam Gallagher has confirmed that won’t be happening.

Taking to X this week, the star, 52, very bluntly responded to a fan who asked him to ‘reconsider’ performing at the Worthy Farm event.

Making his feelings very clear, he wrote: ‘NO full of drips’. Savage, Liam. Savage.

Industry insiders had previously claimed that Glastonbury was determined to secure some big names for next year’s headliners and had its sights set on Oasis.

‘There’s a genuine feeling that next summer’s Glastonbury will be too much of an attraction for Liam and Noel to turn down.

‘They have been made aware of the headline slot that’s open for them next summer. Now it’s all down to them,’ the insider said to MailOnline at the time.

Fans’ hopes were quickly crushed when the band’s representative told Metro that the rumours were false; however, they teased that something exciting was coming.

Days later, Liam and his brother, Noel Gallagher announced they were embarking on a reunion tour with their original guitarist Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs set to join them.

Also coming along for the ride as their support acts are former The Verve frontman and solo artist Richard Ashcroft and indie rock band Cast.

Tickets for the 17 shows went on sale soon after and sold out within 10 hours of hitting the Ticketmaster website. Many fans were devastated to miss out on tickets not only due to the high demand but also the catastrophic deployment of the ticket retailer’s dynamic pricing system.

This saw some fans paying as much as £355 per ticket – up from an already expensive £135.

It comes after Liam revealed the one thing he is ‘scared’ about regarding the tour when replying to a fan’s tweet about his relationship with Noel, 57, which claimed the media contributed to their estrangement.

‘RESPEK [sic],’ Liam wrote in response to the post before admitting he has fears around doing interviews in anticipation for the upcoming Oasis reunion tour due to questions that may be asked about the brothers’ relationship.

‘We don’t want to do interviews coz we’re scared of the media asking us intrusive questions and trying to pick holes in our relationship,’ he wrote.

The singer, who has performed as a solo artist since 2017, also responded to a fan who admitted they were ‘still waiting’ for a press conference about the band’s reunion.

‘They ain’t getting 1’, Liam wrote. He elaborated further on why a press conference won’t be called and interviews won’t take place, telling another fan that he ‘can’t be a**ed’.
