Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has called for Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystał to be disqualified from the show over a ‘totally illegal’ choice.

The Only Way Is Essex star, 36, and professional dancer, 30, hit the dancefloor tonight to Oasis hit Don’t Look Back In Anger.

But their Rumba sparked fury for judge Craig, 59, after he dubbed the lifts they used ‘totally illegal.’

‘There were two lifts. One foot should remain on the floor at all times,’ he said while giving his verdict.

‘Of course, a professional would be marked down for that. I think even a disqualification darling, because I think you should follow the rules.’

Host Motsi Mabuse was quick to reassure Pete and Jowita – as well as the audience and fans – that they would never disqualify the couple.

‘I do like seeing how committed you are to this,’ Craig continued. ‘I can see very clearly you have been studying and studying and studying.’

Pete and Jowita have become a favourite pair among fans, with some believing the duo have ‘fallen’ for each other during filming.

The reality TV star was forced to defend a supposed kiss between the pair, saying that there was absolutely no lip-locking that went on between the pair during their American smooth.

Elsewhere on the show, comedian Chris McCausland brought fans to tears with his emotional routine with partner Dianne Buswell.

The pairing impressed with a beautiful Waltz to You’ll Never Walk Alone by Gerry and the Peacemakers.

In one segment of the dance, Chris, 47, danced without Dianne, 35, before she came rushing towards him. They then returned to Ballroom hold for the rest of the song.

The combination of comedian Chris’ solo, the beautiful steps, and his VT describing the love he has for his home city of Liverpool led to a lot of emotion.

The song is poignant for many people as it was performed by a lone choir singer the day after the Hillsborough tragedy.

It comes after contestants Wynne Evans and Katya Jones were at the centre of a controversy following last week’s live show.

During last Saturday’s show, opera singer Wynne, 52, placed his hand on Katya’s waist and kept reaching it further around her midriff until she removed it with a smile on her face.

Viewers also noticed Wynne’s failed attempt at securing a high-five from his 35-year-old pro partner, to which she pulled a rather unimpressed face before turning to face the camera with a grin as if nothing had happened.

Katya has since said she did not feel uncomfortable by what Wynne described as a ‘silly joke’, with the singer saying he was ‘heartbroken’ by the reaction.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC on Saturdays at 6:25pm and Sundays at 7:20pm.
