The UK may have found its ticket to Eurovision Song Contest glory in the form of a wrestling superstar.
Scotland’s own Joe Hendry, who works for TNA Wrestling in the US, went viral earlier this year when his surprise WWE debut became the company’s most watched video on X, beating the likes of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and current champion Cody Rhodes.
Well-known for writing and recording his own musical parodies to mock his rivals, the 36-year-old wrestler hit number four in the UK Big Top 40 this year with his entrance theme I Believe In Joe Hendry.
Now, he’s aiming even higher, as he wrote on X: ‘It’s official. About 4 months from now, we will submit: ‘I Believe In Joe Hendry (Eurovision Remix)’ In good time for the March deadline. No matter the outcome, this will be fun.’
It’s not his only musical ambition, having also confirmed a bid for Christmas Number One, and invited Eminem to be part of TNA’s Bound For Glory event on October 26 when Joe battles Nic Nemeth (formerly WWE veteran Dolph Ziggler) for the TNA World Title.
‘This has been a year where I’ve done a lot of things that people said were impossible,’ he exclusively told Metro.co.uk as he reflected on his new goals.

After Sam Ryder came agonisingly close and both Mae Muller and Olly Alexander suffered disappointment, maybe it’s time for the UK to believe in someone else looking to secure our first win since Katrina and the Waves in 1997.
The BBC has confirmed the UK’s 2025 entrant will be revealed before next March, and Joe is currently finding a way to make a new version of his entrance them fit the ‘original song’ criteria for potential entrants.
He’s compared compared the track to the likes of the Queen classic Bohemian Rhapsody and Muse’s Knights of Cydonia.
‘Believe it or not, something that I’m quite proud of is that although the song is 113 seconds long, it is deceptively complex in its structure, because it’s very rare that a song charts where you will change the BPM, you change the speed of the song, it’s like multiple songs in one,’ he said of his walkout tune.

‘It’s structurally similar to Knights of Cydonia, or Bohemian Rhapsody. So I’m very proud that I was able to pull that off within such a short song and that people like it as much as they do.’
Earlier this week, he had teased something huge happening in four months, which had wrestling fans thinking he could be part of WWE’s annual Royal Rumble match.
He played down the speculation in our interview 24 hours before the Eurovision announcement, teasing: ‘What’s interesting to me is that I say, I mean, is the rumble four months away, or is it three and a half months away?

‘Oh, right, because I’m pretty sure I said four, yes, but all of a sudden, everyone wants to put words in my mouth. Here’s the thing, yeah, I this is what I love about professional wrestling, is I have no idea what’s going to happen tomorrow, let alone in six months.’
When it comes to his festive single, Joe is keeping his cards close to his chest, but he has promised to ‘release something that will make everyone laugh’, whether they love or hate him.
The single will raise money for the Held In Our Hearts charity to support ‘families who have suffered early bereavement of their children’, which is a ‘very important’ cause for Joe and his own family.

He’s also ‘trying to figure out’ another cause to champion, but he wants to make sure it’s done in the right way to ‘make the biggest difference’.
‘I don’t just want to drop a donation somewhere for the single and then go, “there we go,”‘ he explained. ‘Like, is it going to be better if we actually physically supply what a food bank needs? Or do we do Christmas presents for families who can’t get them?’
Despite the various side projects and increased involvement with WWE amid rumours of his contract situation, Joe – who avoided getting into specifics – stressed that he’s committed to TNA and wants to to these things as an ambassador for the promotion.
He’s even reached out to Eminem (Picture: Aaron J. Thornton/Getty Images)

That includes inviting Eminem to Bound For Glory, which takes place in the hip hop icon’s hometown of Detroit – and the wrestler things it’s a perfect fit.
‘I’ve heard through the grapevine that Eminem is a wrestling fan,’ he teased. ‘You watch an Eminem video and tell me that he doesn’t love wrestling.’
He added: ‘It’s going to be a milestone moment in TNA’s history. Me being a musician as well, you have those moments where the stars are aligning and we throw out there into the universe, and who knows?
‘But what I will say is, we have officially invited Eminem to be in my corner… We’ve both got the blonde hair, the beard. It’s a match made in heaven. What better time would there be for Eminem to make a pro wrestling appearance?’
Watch TNA Wrestling: Bound For Glory at 1am on October 26. Tune in via TNA+ or TrillerTV.
