Fans of The Maccabees are buzzing as the band has teased their followers with a very vague update for the first time in seven years.

The Maccabees first formed in 2004 and had huge success with their song Toothpaste Kisses which was released in 2007 with their album Colour It In.

The Indie Rock band also had success with the songs Precious Time and About Your Dress from their debut album.

In 2009 the band was a firm indie favourite of the noughties and released Wall of Arms. In 2012 they released Given to the Wild and their last album Marks to Prove It was released in July 2015.

In 2016 the band decided to go their separate ways, with farewell gigs taking place in 2017.

Although the band split seven years ago and hasn’t released music in nine years, a new post has baffled fans on X.

On Wednesday, the band posted for the first time since 2017, sharing a new logo, which then became the updated profile image on the band’s social media pages and website.

After seeing the post from the band, fans were immediately sent into a frenzy, with hopes that this post could mean the band is set to reunite.

‘Eeeeeeeeek,’ commented WillRead on the post on X.

‘As I never got the chance to see you guys live. DO NOT play with me like this! 🤞,’ said Mr_JamesWatt

‘Oasis who? This is massive!’ said FattyMench79

‘Aw man if this is what I hope it is that’s awesome news,’ said Havinaradox.

Other fans joked about the post, suggesting it meant nothing at all. ‘Congratulations on remembering the password,’ joked Gertcha.

Adding more field to the fires of the rumours, Felix White, the guitarist and backing vocalist in the band, responded to the post with an eyeballs emoji.

The emoji was of course vague but nonetheless, fans were excited to hear whatever the band members had to offer.

When the band last performed the group consisted of members Felix White, Orlando Weeks, Hugo White, Ruper Jarvis, and Sam Doyle.
