Travis Scott fan suffers seizure after crowds at rapper’s gig descend into chaos and fighting-Brooke Ivey Johnson-Entertainment – Metro

Chaos erupted at a Travis Scott concert held at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne Wednesday night.

Five fans were taken to hospital, one of which seemingly suffered a seizure after being tackled by security after forcing his way past a barrier. 

Footage on TikTok shows a security guard seemingly fly-kicking an audience member after two men tried to run past the guards toward the stage. 

One fan was quickly taken down, with the second eluding the guards briefly before being kicked by the guard. 

He then appeared to have a seizure as the guards attempted to restrain both men. 

According to 9News, he was quickly treated by an ambulance and eventually carried away on a stretcher. 

A witness told the outlet: ‘He’s landed like on the ground and it looked like he’s hit his head as well, so the security guards just jumped on him straight away and actually tried to pick him up.

‘That’s when you can see he’s like shaking and then they lie him on his side and that’s when you realise he’s having a seizure.

‘Everyone was a bit on edge and, you know, it kind of took a toll on me and my girlfriend, just like being a bit uncomfortable.’

Pedestrian reports that – according to medical professionals at Ambulance Victoria who were on the scene – the man who had the apparent seizure was one of five Travis Scott attendees who were taken to hospital from the show. 

The crowd was on the brink of mayhem throughout the concert, with many audience members taking to social media to share scenes of the unruly scenes. 

Pride Security Group director Richard Theodorakis told 7 News that the crowd risked the safety of everyone in attendance.

‘A lot of the incidents started from the second lines formed at the front and, if you look at the footage, those lines are quite dense and wide, meaning for police to have any effect, someone could just rush into that crowd and you’d never find them again,’ he said.

‘That gives confidence to the crowd, they know they’ve out-numbered police and security.

‘Even to the early stages of moving people inside, you could see people running in and acting up almost straight away.’

Some people even reported being trampled on while in the mosh pit at the front of the concert.

Reports of the chaotic energy at the concert are worryingly reminiscent of the environment that led to the tragic crowd crush at a Travis Scott performance at Astroworld music festival in 2021. 

In November 2021, 10 concertgoers died, and many more were injured when a crowd surged forward as the Sicko Mode rapper took to the stage at his festival in Houston.

Hundreds of lawsuits were filed against the 33-year-old, as well as promoters Live Nation and others involved in the event – but it was later ruled that he would not be indicted and that ‘no single individual was criminally responsible’ for the tragedy.

While the concert in Melbourne did not end in nearly the same tragedy, it was evident that the crowd was on the verge of the level of pandemonium that made that level of crowd crush possible.
