Fans are shocked by this week’s eviction on the latest episode of Big Brother.

Izaaz, a 29-year-old estate agent from Wales, was voted out tonight, surprising fans who were sure Marcello was going to get the boot instead.

Even so, Izaaz didn’t seem upset to exit the show, saying during the post-eviction interview that while he would have liked to stay he was excited to see his friends and family.

Marcello, a 34-year-old youth mentor, entered the compound earlier this month and immediately promised to make waves.

He undoubtedly did, quickly earning heaps of criticism online for his behaviour in the house.

One of the moments that landed him in hot water both with fans and house mates, was when he and Ali, a 38-year-old criminal psychologist and proud lesbian, found themselves together in the smoking area.

Marcello joked they ‘vape kissed’ after sharing one another’s vapes, which eventually led to him untruthfully claiming the pair had kissed, making Ali visibly uncomfortable.

The incident struck a nerve with many viewers, including a Metro writer who wrote of the incident: ‘In the aftermath, I was left appalled by ITV’s lack of compassion towards Ali, with spin-off show Late & Live hosts seemingly dismissing Marcello’s actions as laddish banter.

‘I still can’t help but think it would’ve been handled differently had Ali been straight with a boyfriend on the outside.’

On tonight’s episode, he joked about Lilly’s feet, causing her to leave the room in an embarrassed huff.

In contrast, Izaaz has been a relatively quiet and neutral contestant, with the only major drama from his stay at the house coming from an incident with a bagel.

It was quickly clear online that fans couldn’t believe the way the vote shook out.

@GrpejuiceBlu3s posted on X: ;You guys voted out some because he’s quiet over someone who’s misogynistic ? Right okay. #bbuk #bigbrother’

@AndyGibsonTV agreed: ‘IZAAZ?!!!!!!!!! NOT MARCELLO?!!!!!!!!!’

@iloveaespaaaa posted: ‘IZAAZ BEING EVICTED IS INSANE WHAT??? MARCELLO NEEDS TO GO I THOUGHT WE ALL DECIDED ON THAT?’

@TVqueertiques put it even more strongly, posting: ‘The British Public actually disgust me… letting Marcello stay in that house.’

But some fans disagreed, with @xmaaisieex writing: ‘If the women in the house were uncomfortable around Marcello, he would be out of the house. Don’t label someone as a ‘sex pest’ etc, you see a few clips a day.’

Izaaz was the third contestant to be kicked off the show, following the second housemate, Daze, last week.

The all-female eviction line-up last week saw the 24-year-old joined by Lily, 20, Martha, 26, and Ali, 38.

The first week’s eviction broke a long-running curse where female contestants have been the first to be booted from the ITV2 reality show for the past 13 years, with contestant Ryan first to be ousted.
