YouTube has refused to re-monetise Dr Disrespect’s channel but he’s convinced that he’s signed a ‘much, much bigger’ deal elsewhere.

When even Kick says that they don’t want you, it’s a sign that maybe your streaming career is on the rocks. That’s the situation Dr Disrespect – real name Herschel Beahm IV – finds himself in, after he revealed the reason he was banned from Twitch was because of inappropriate messages he sent to a minor.

He was banned from Twitch in 2020, only months after signing a multi-year contract, but the reasons for the ban were only revealed this year. In the meantime, he’d made a new home for himself on YouTube, with over 4 million subscribers, but when YouTube found out about his history they de-monetised his channel.

Beahm is free to post content on YouTube, but he can’t now make any many from it. He had appealed to YouTube to reverse the decision, but it’s now been confirmed that they will not – at least for now.

Technically, they merely deferred his appeal for an additional 60 days, but that means that for now he still can’t earn any money and there’s no guarantee they’ll reverse the decision after that.

That’s not good news for him, especially as Twitch rival Kick has already said that they don’t want him, calling any such deal a ‘waste of money’. This was after a previous offer, before the sexting scandal, where Kick reportedly offered Beahm $10 million a year, but he demanded $50 million.

After announcing the new delay with YouTube, Beahm insisted that he has something ‘much, much bigger’ being planned instead, although given his tendency to exaggerate it’s hard to know what that might mean.

At one point last month he seemed to be implying that he was going to move into sports streaming, and leave gaming behind entirely, although he’s made no other reference to that since.

Streaming service Rumble will allow him to stream but initially it was reported that they don’t intend to offer him a contract. However, a more recent tweet by Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski seems to suggest that they are interested.

Rumble is little known in gaming circles, but it is popular with the far right and the tweet Pavlovski responded to from Beahm read, ‘Make Gaming Great Again.’ Beahm has also recently introduced apparel on his merchandise store with the same phrase.

This has convinced many fans that Beahm must be contemplating a move to Rumble, and not just because it’s the only place left that will take him.

Whether that means he will also start to talk about politics is unclear, but with the US elections barely more than a week away he may feel that now is the time to try and find new fans who are unaware of, or don’t care, about his past issues.

Will Rumble take Dr Disrespect? (Twitter)
