Friends fans, this is The One Where We All Feel Old.
It’s been two decades since the classic sitcom came to an end after 10 seasons, and a realisation about Courteney Cox and David Schwimmer has left people stunned.
The duo played siblings Monica and Ross Geller on the show, with Elliott Gould and Christina Pickles playing their parents Jack and Judy over the years.
Elliott and Christina appeared in the very first season back in 1994, and a fan has realised Courteney and David are now ‘the same age’ as the actors playing their parents were back then.
Parody account ChandlerBing_12 wrote on X: ‘Want to hear something that will make you feel old? Courteney Cox and David Schwimmer are currently the same age Jack and Judy were when Friends started back in 1994.;
As much as we want to believe otherwise, it adds up, with Christina turning 59 in 1994, and Elliott was 54 – while David is celebrating his 58th birthday next month, and Courteney turned 60 over the summer.

We need a sit down after that, and we’re not the only ones, with plenty of fans struggling to come to terms with the passing of time.
‘This is absolutely wild,’ wrote @The_CK_Buchanan, while @ElatedTate replied: ‘Definitely making me feel old, lulz.’
‘I feel old now,’ agreed @Soundwavestorm, as @WEMUSTOKE summed up our feelings perfectly, simply saying: ‘JFC. We’re old AF.’

Jack and Judy were seen on the show on and off from 1994 to 2003 in 20 and 19 episodes respectively.
However, it could all have been very different as Jack was nearly killed off at one point during the run.

Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk for the show’s 25th anniversary in 2019, producer and director Kevin S Bright said: ‘I think at times I was hoping the show could touch on… it was so good at touching on serious subjects and being funny about it.’
‘For example, I was going through in my life at the time of the role-reversal that you go through with parents,’ he explained. ‘The realisation that you’re the baby and they take care of you and then you rebirth and you start taking care of them, and the realisation your parents aren’t immortal.’
Thankfully, the plotline fell through, as Kevin admitted: ‘Nobody wanted to kill off Elliott Gould.’
Friends is available to stream on Netflix in the UK.
