Eve Fallon, a fashionista from Scotland, spotted the must-have winter buy on a recent trip to Sainsbury’s.

The 25-year-old had only nipped in to the supermarket on the hunt for Christmas pyjamas.

But instead she stumbled across some stunning sequins buys which would be perfect for office nights out in December.

In a short video, shared on her TikTok page @evefallon, she said: “Calling all corporate girlies. Got an office Christmas party? You wanna look cute but you also don’t wanna rub the over 40s haters up the wrong way?

“These and a nice top, and a cropped satin blazer.

“I love Sainsbury’s.”

And the item in question? A pair of Sequin Embellished Wide Leg Trousers priced at £28.

The sparkly trousers, available on the Tu Clothing website in black and burgundy, come in sizes eight to 22.

There are also short and tall options to make sure they’re the perfect fit.

But they also appear to be avaialble in silver and rose gold in stores, as seen in Eve’s video.

Describing the trousers, Tu Clothing bosses say: “Designed in a flattering silhouette, our new season trousers are adorned with sequin embellishments.

“In a wide leg construction, they’re the perfect option for parties and special occasions.”

Eve has since hailed the supermarket for giving Zara vibes on a budget.

She told Fabulous: “I decided to go into Sainsbury’s to find the viral Christmas PJs that I have seen people posting about. I was shocked to find amazing sequins outfits and nice coats that looked like Zara.

“I thought straight away ‘Christmas nights out’ and immediately thought about my corporate friends who work in offices.

“They always ask me what they should wear to a work party and it’s weird because you’re always looking for something ‘smart/casual but a bit of sparkle’ and Sainsburys was amazing, especially if you’re last minute like me looking for something nice.”

She added: “I no longer feel embarrassed to buy something from Sainsbury’s because it’s not grannyish. I think they really have upped their game.”

“You’d think that Zara has teamed up with the local supermarkets.

“I’m also loving Tesco. Their stuff is great to just pick up along with your weekly shopping.

“I think for years it’s been a laughing stock shopping at Tesco. In the past it’s been large tops, Disney PJs and imitation Uggs but they really have upped their game.

Is supermarket fashion the new high street?

DEPUTY Fashion Editor Abby McHale weighs in:

The supermarkets have really upped their game when it comes to their fashion lines. These days, as you head in to do your weekly food shop you can also pick up a selection of purse-friendly, stylish pieces for all the family.
Tesco has just announced a 0.7 per cent increase in the quarter thanks to a ‘strong growth in clothing’ and M&S has earnt the title of the number one destination for womenswear on the high street.
Asda’s clothing line George has made £1.5 million for the supermarket in 2023, 80 per cent of Sainsbury’s clothes sold at full price rather than discounted and Nutmeg at Morrisons sales are also up 2 per cent in the past year.
So what is it about supermarket fashion that is becoming so successful?
Apart from the clothing actually being affordable, it’s good quality too – with many being part of schemes such as the Better Cotton Initiative.
A lot of the time they keep to classic pieces that they know will last the customer year after year.
Plus because they buy so much stock they can turn around pieces quickly and buy for cheaper because of the volumes.
