Noughties nu-metal icons Deftones are set to return to the UK for a huge London show next year.

The My Own Summer rockers – including vocalist Chino Moreno, lead guitarist Stephen Carpenter and drummer Abe Cunningham, and keyboardist and turntablist Frank Delgado – will perform at Crystal Palace Park, London on Sunday, June 29.

They will be joined by Buddy Holly hitmakers Weezer and English hardcore band High Vis, famed for songs such as Talk For Hours and Trauma Bonds.

Deftones will host an artist pre-sale at 9am on Wednesday, November 6 until Friday, November 8 at 9am, at which point the general sale begins.

Fans can sign up via Deftones.com to receive an email with a link and code to access the artist pre-sale tickets.

O2 Priority presale also begins at 9am on Wednesday, November 6 and ends at 9am on Friday, November 8.

Live Nation, Festival Republic, and Ticketmaster are also running presale events which go live at 9am on Thursday, November 7, and end the following day.

Spotify presale begins on the same day at 11am, and also ends at 9am on Friday, November 8. More information can be found at Ticketmaster.co.uk.

The band, who played Lollapalooza earlier this year, last performed in the UK at an intimate gig at O2 Forum Kentish Town in 2022.

Deftones formed in Sacramento, California in 1988 and went on to release their debut album Adrenaline in 1995 featuring singles 7 Words and Bored.

The word-of-mouth success of the release was amplified by the band’s second studio release Around the Fur which became their first album to be certified both gold and later platinum by the RIAA.

White Pony was released in 2000 featuring lead single Change (In the House of Glies) which remains Deftones’ most commercially successful single peaking at number three on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart, and number nine on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.

Elite, which also featured on the album, won a Grammy Award for best metal performance.

Tragedy hit the band in 2008 when original bass player Chi Cheng was involved in a traffic collision which left him in a minimal state of consciousness until his death in 2013.

Deftones recruited Sergio Vega to replace Cheng, appearing in recorded work as well as touring with the band until his departure in 2021.

The band have released nine studio albums, with 2020’s Ohms going on to be nominated for a Grammy Award and receiving overwhelming critical praise.

In recent years, Deftones have experienced a surge of popularity through TikTok with songs such as Cherry Waves and Sextapes featuring heaving on the site, including the ‘before and after Deftones’ trend.

The trend sees fans post clips of themselves before and after listening to the band, usually donning more alternative clothes and a moody aesthetic for the latter.

Deftones previously confirmed they are working on a tenth album, with Chino telling KROQ backstage at this year’s Coachella: ‘Basically, where we’re sitting right now is we have a whole record recorded all musically, and it’s pretty much my job right now to finish up the vocals.

‘And I have, obviously, this show again next week, and then straight after that, I go back home to Oregon and I go in the studio. So as long as that takes… I hate to put a definite kind of timeframe, ’cause we’re not really in a rush.

‘We want it to be great. I think that’s most important. But it is coming, and, yeah, it’s really good. We’re really excited with what we’ve been working on. And everybody’s jazzed.’

Deftones will perform at Crystal Palace Park on June 29, 2025.
