Morrissey’s Dallas show ended in chaos after fans rushed the stage and a bodyguard was injured.

The former Smiths vocalist, 65, performed at the Fair Park Music Hall on Saturday and had just hit the stage to perform his encore when one fan jumped onto the stage for a hug.

A video posted online of the incident shows a bodyguard moving toward the woman, but Morrissey reciprocated and embraced the young woman as the encore began.

The touching moment prompted other fans to try their luck and jump on stage to touch the How Soon Is Now singer as he tried to perform.

Soon after, three security guards surrounded Morrissey as fans from both sides of the crowd began to invade the stage.

The singer did reach out and touch some of the fans before being ushered off stage and the concert cut abruptly short.

It appears that one of the security guards involved in the fray was injured, as they were seen limping off the stage before another staff member helped them.

It isn’t an unusual occurrence for fans to storm the stage at Morrissey concerts to try and get close to the artist, but it rarely stops the show or ends in people injured.

Fans took to social media following the event to share their shock and ‘madness’ that occurred at the show.

‘Morrissey in Dallas tonight…probably the wildest ending to a show I’ve ever seen. If you were there you know,’ Happenstance89 wrote on X.

RobertStahlTX added: ‘Last night’s #Morrissey show was nuts! Was a great show but about 2/3 of the way in, a crowd of #idiots rushed the stage to hug him. A bodyguard was injured and the show instantly ended. Jeez, what is wrong with people!?!?’

Others sent well wishes to the Everyday Is Like Sunday singer as well as fans who may have been caught up in the rush.

On Instagram, Nattaleeeeeee blasted: ‘They really did ruin it for everyone! It was my 9 year old first concert and he was pretty bummed out about it.’

It comes after the controversial vocalist fired his management team after Johnny Marr refuted his claims that he ignored a ‘lucrative offer’ for The Smiths to reunite.

However, in a statement sent to Metro, a spokesperson for Marr said he actually turned down the offer, and didn’t ‘ignore’ it.

Taking to his website, Morrissey simply said after the fact: ‘Morrissey has severed all connections with Red Light Management/Pete Galli Management.’

Metro has contacted representatives for Morrissey for comment.
