Donald Trump has declared himself the winner of the 2024 US presidential election over Kamala Harris, and US celebrities have taken to social media to react.
Moments ahead of his speech – in which Trump promised to help America ‘heal’ – Fox News, a right-wing broadcaster, and NBC, a left-wing broadcaster, said Trump had triumphed over Democrat candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris after a tough fight.
Key states won by Trump include Georgia, Pennsylvania and Texas, after the result tipped in his favour overnight from Indiana, West Virginia, Mississippi, Alabama and Oklahoma all voting red.
But after many celebrities took to social media to endorse Kamala Harris – including Barbara Streisand, Spike Lee, Mark Hamill, Jamie Lee Curtis, Cardi B, Charli XCX, Lil Nas X, Kerry Washington, Mark Ruffalo, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and Shonda Rhimes – they are now sharing their reactions to the Republican win.
Meanwhile, famous Trump supporters are few and far between – or haven’t been so vocal – with only a handful of familiar faces having endorsed him for President.

Among those who did were Elon Musk – who poured millions into his X campaign to support Trump – Dana White, Hulk Hogan, Amber Rose, 50 Cent, and Kerry Katona.
But many who endorsed Harris have now taken to social media to express their disappointment at the result.
Dawn O’Porter shared a picture of all the US states lit up in Republican red, and wrote: ‘This is breaking my heart. After all that, still this.’
Cardi B took to her Instagram Story as the results were rolling in, and said: ‘I’m f***ing sad. I’m f***ing sad. I don’t know I’m just really f***ing annoyed.’
She continued: ‘I see that Kamala didn’t come out to talk at Howard. As strong as she is, I know she’s probably emotional right now. There’s a lot going on in her mind. I just hope she knows that millions of people are proud of her, I’m proud of her.

‘Women around the world are proud of her. Women of colour are proud of her. At the beginning of the year I didn’t want to go for nobody, she changed my mind.’
Actress Lili Reinhart said: ‘I cannot fathom the feeling of the women who came forward about their sexual assault at the hands of Trump.
‘Seeing millions of people vote for their abuser. My heart absolutely breaks for these women. I believe you, and I am so sorry.’
Carol Vorderman took to X and wrote: ‘On @CNN Looks like Trump will win. God help America. And the UK too when he introduces tariffs against us very soon Right wingers..
‘Voted Brexit to cut back UK trading with the Euro market…. & cheered on a man who’ll cut back trade with USA…well done.
‘But….the boats…or should I say the bait.
