A few days before the season 2 release of Bad Sisters, viewers are being urged to catch up on the ‘hidden gem’ series.
First released in 2022, the Irish black comedy was created by Sharon Horgan, who was also behind Catastrophe and Motherland.
Based on the Belgian series Clan, it focused on the five Garvey sisters – Eva (Sharon), Grace (Anne-Marie Duff), Ursula (Eva Birthistle), Bibi (Sarah Greene) and Becka (Eve Hewson).
After Grace’s abusive, controlling husband John Paul (Claes Bang) dies unexpectedly, the sisters find themselves at the centre of a life insurance investigation.
The series jumps between timelines – the first before his death in which Grace’s four sisters plot to murder their brother-in-law and following his death when a determined insurance agent tries his best to prove they were involved in order to save his failing business.
Despite the series being praised by both critics and viewers, as well as holding an impressive 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the Apple TV series has largely flown under the radar.

However, with the second season on its way, fans have shared their love of the show and also begged others to tune in.
‘BAD SISTERS ON APPLE TV IS PHENOMENAL. DROP EVERYTHING AND WATCH IT. PLEASE,’ Srishti posted on X.
‘If you liked Big Little Lies, watch Bad Sisters on Apple TV. It’s the same vibes, just Irish,’ Kyla shared.
‘Believe me when I’m saying that Bad sisters by Sharon Horgan on Apple TV is one of the best series you can watch in your spare time. An absolute gem!’ Iliana added.
Many viewers also faced their ‘blood boiling’ watching JP’s maddening and abusive actions, with one saying he was ‘certainly one of the best villains ever on TV’.

‘Hands down, one of the cleverest, best written, most memorable, and funniest shows on any of the streaming services in recent years,’ someone else declared.
Although the show was first conceived as a limited series, it was commissioned for a second, which returns next week.
The upcoming episodes are set two years after JP’s death and while the sisters have done their best to move on with their lives, when a past truth resurfaces, they are ‘thrust back into the spotlight, suspicions are at an all-time high, lies are told, secrets revealed, and the sisters are forced to work out who they can trust’.
Teasing what unfolds, Anne-Marie recently said on the Dish from Waitrose podcast: ‘Oh, baby, there’s a twist and turn! I can’t tell you; I suspect there are snipers everywhere.’
Bad Sisters season 2 will premiere on Wednesday, November 13. It will be followed by one episode weekly, every Wednesday through to December 25.
