Eighties pop icon Tiffany Darwish is unrecognisable decades after her number one hit.

At 52, the singer has gone for a more chic look than she did back in the 80s, though she’s continued to rock her iconic red hair.

The singer regularly posts to Instagram and her recent pictures have captured the attention of fans, including a post from a Halloween party in which she ‘dressed for the 80s.’

Tiffany is known for her iconic cover of Tommy James and the Shondells’ I Think We’re Alone Now, which dominated the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks in 1987 and remains a musical staple of the era.

This success was bolstered by her Beautiful You: Celebrating The Good Life Shopping Mall Tour ’87, which cemented her status as a pop sensation.

Her follow-up hit Could’ve Been also topped the charts in early 1988.

Tiffany released 11 studio albums throughout her career.

Her other top 10 tracks, such as All This Time and her Beatles cover I Saw Him Standing There, have become beloved 80s tunes in their own right.

Earlier this year, Tiffany made headlines by appearing on the UK version of The Masked Singer as the Eiffel Tower

She was eliminated before the finals after the judges incorrectly guessed at various identities, including Lisa Stansfield and Lindsay Lohan, but ultimately missed the mark on her true identity.

Tiffany’s appearance at Rewind Festival North saw her sharing the stage with other musical legends such as Gabrielle, Kim Wilde, Boyzlife, Billy Ocean, and Midge Ure.

She wore a black mini dress paired with very 80s black boots, and still sported her iconic bright red hair do.

Tiffany’s festival appearance was a triumph for the singer in more ways than one. She survived a harrowing car accident last year when a truck tire struck her vehicle on Nashville’s Interstate 65.

She expressed her gratitude at the time for emerging unscathed, noting the potential for a much more severe accident.

Additionally, in 2021, the singer was filmed swearing at fans during a show in Florida, and later revealed she was suffering a panic attack and meltdown during the gig.

A clip emerged from her performance in which she failed to hit the notes of her famous 1987 hit before she said to the crowd: ‘Fk you guys — I will fking nail this in.

‘This is my hit!’

She later posted an apology video to Instagramin which she said:

Tiffany said: ‘Hey guys, can we chat?

‘I am so sorry. I panicked. It’s not often that I lose my voice and I got up there and just absolutely had a panic attack, a meltdown.

‘And out of my frustration, I said things that I don’t mean, at all. I love you guys so very, very much.

‘And I want to say thank you to everybody who’s shown concern, given me love, and I’ve just been horrified for the last couple of days because I’ve just not been in that situation.

‘I pride myself in being able to come and bring it to my shows and I love being with you guys and I had no clue I had a vocal problem.’

‘I’m not sick, and I got up there and it just wasn’t there and it literally freaked me out.’
