I made a dupe of H&M’s viral £45 bow cardigan for less than £15 using Poundland buys – and there’s NO sewing involved

SHOPPERS have been going wild for H&M’s chic bow cardigan for the festive period – and it’s been flying off shelves.

If you are struggling to get your hands on the viral item, a fashion lover has shared how she made her own DIY version for a fraction of the price.

Instead of heading to H&M, Becky, who posts under @house.of.lane, popped to her local Poundland where she spotted a similar-looking cardi.

In a clip, she shared: “Want the #viral sold out Bow Cardi but either cannot locate in stock or don’t want to pay loads?

“I was able to make my own version of the sold out viral bow cardi for nearly 80 per cent less using items from Poundland.”

In order to create her fashion dupe, she picked up two sets of beautiful velvet bows in green and red to be clipped onto the buttons.

Becky continued: “What’s great about these bows is they clip on, which also I’m thinking will be easier for washing instead of glueing them on.

“In total, for the cardi and the free bows, it comes in at £14.”

This marks a big saving compared to H&M’s version, which has been setting customers back £44.99.

Speaking about her two bow sets, Becky added: “I couldn’t decide which colour I like, but as I’m able to clip these on and clip them off, I’ve got the option of the green or the red.

“Let me know in the comments which colour you like, or if you’re going to give this a try.”

Shoppers were highly impressed with her purse-friendly fashion hack and flocked to the comments to share their praise.

One said: “LOVE IT! gorgeous!!”

Another added: “This is a brilliant idea, I think I may pinch this one.”

And even Poundland was impressed, with their official Instagram account commenting: “We love this so much!”

H&M fans previously raved about the “cutest” viral cardigan and said it looks ideal for chillier weather.

Shopper Lily, who posts under @lilyrose_co, shared how she spotted the gorgeous item in stores.

She wrote: “Run to H&M for the cutest bow jumper ever.”

Holding up the cream garment, she showed how it has three black bows down the front.

The snug item looks perfect for wearing with jeans or a skirt and boots as we leave the summer months behind.

How to look chic on a budget

Fashion stylist Gemma Rose Breger, and beauty journalist Samantha Silver revealed how you can make your outfits elevated without spending hundreds of pounds.

Don’t ever spend on designer denim: River Island ”always has such a great selection of fashion-forward jeans that follow the current trends”. The high street retailer offers a great range of sizes to fit UK 6 – UK 18, and three leg lengths – and prices start from an affordable £25.
There are no rules for jewels: ”Pick up something at a car boot sale, or charity shop, scroll on Vinted & eBay, snap up something from the clothing section in your local supermarket when doing the food shop or check out high street clothing stores.”
Don’t forget the pre-loved sites: With a rising number of second-hand sites, such as Vinted and Depop, there’s no excuse for not buying – or selling – pre-loved garments. Gemma, for instance, has managed to get her hands on chic Chanel sunnies for a mere £17.

The H&M website states: “Cardigan in a soft rib knit containing some wool.

“Round, rib-trimmed neckline, dropped shoulders and long sleeves.

“Concealed press-studs and decorative bows in an accent colour down the front.”

The shop suggested finishing off the look with leather trousers and some ballet flats.

You’ll have to be eagle-eyed to snap up the cardigan, as currently it is sold out online.

A number of shops are selling it at the moment, and you can check the stock calculator online.
