New Lego Horizon set confirmed for 2025 and it’s perfectly affordable-GameCentral-Entertainment – Metro

As Lego goes it’s quite the bargain (Lego)

Lego Horizons Adventures launched without any associated toy sets but there is one coming out in March and it looks really good.

Lego is great but the one thing it isn’t is cheap. There’re usually good reasons for that, beyond Lego wanting to make a profit, as Lego bricks don’t grow on trees and neither do the licences needed to make sets based on existing properties.

That’s why Star Wars and Marvel sets, for example, always seem extra expensive but, surprisingly, this new one for Lego Horizon Adventures is quite reasonably priced.

The snappily named Lego Horizon Adventures Aloy & Varl vs. Shell-Walker & Sawtooth set does just what it says on the tin, with two minifigures and two robot animals for a non-extortionate £39.99.

Previously, the only Lego set based on Horizon Zero Dawn was a now retired one of a Tallneck, which came with a minifigure of Aloy and cost only £69.99. Although it’s around £90 on eBay if you want to get it now.

Perhaps Sony is not charging as much as it could for the licence, in an attempt to ensure Lego makes more sets. Sony has been keen to push the Horizon franchise in recent years and on the face of it Lego is not an obvious partner, as neither of the main games are very kid-friendly.

Everyone loves giant robot dinosaurs though and there’s no question the mechanical designs look great in Lego form, with the crab-like Shell-Walker and the sabre-tooth tiger inspired Sawtooth.

The set is made up of 768 pieces, including a patch of long grass to hide in, a campfire and a treasure chest – of which there are many in Lego Horizon Adventures.

The Shell-Walker has opening claws and a detachable cargo pod, plus a neat looking energy shield made of Lego bricks. The Sawtooth also has removable parts, so Aloy can shoot them off, as well as an opening mouth and poseable claws.

Aloy’s bow can be customised, while Varl’s spear can be switched up for fire, ice, and shock elemental attacks, so it’s a neat little set with a lot of attention to detail if you know the games.

Although you can pre-order the set now, on the Lego website, it won’t be released until March 1. Whether this is a delay, and it was meant to be out at the same time as the game – which came out on November 14 – is unclear but March is a common time of the year for new Lego sets to launch.

What’s also unclear is if there’ll be any other, bigger sets. There have been fake images of a fan-made Thunderjaw circulating around but so far this Shell-Walker one is the only one that’s known to be real.
